We went here twice because we liked it so much! Once for lunch and another time for dinner. It is small but not normally too crowded because it is away from the main tourism areas but still close enough to walk to. It is run by one guy in the kitchen area and one server and they are hard workers!
It mainly serves spritz, meat boards, and sandwiches but they also have a surprisingly good vegetable caponata. I highly recommend the violet spritz for a light and refreshing drink. My dining partner got the tropical spritz which is sweeter and a bit heavier/more syrupy but still good. Their limoncello spritz is good as well!
When we went there for lunch we ordered the meat board for two and our dining partner ordered the caponata. The meat board is excellent and has meat and cheeses produced by the owners father which you can tell he is very proud of, as he should be. It is not enough for a main meal if you are both hungry but if you’re medium hungry it’s enough.
When we went back for dinner my dining partner ordered the caponata again because he liked it so much, it really is fresh! I ordered a meat and cheese board for one which was excellent as always. It had salami, prosciutto, pecorino, smoked provolone cheese, local honey, olives, etc and I would definitely order it again. My dining partner ordered grilled veggies and fresh cheese which he loved but please note the veggies are served cold.
We also ordered the French fries and the fried arincini/croquette mixed basket which were both surprisingly delicious! For dinner we ordered a white whine recommended by the owner which was really delicious and which I have posted in the pictures. When we walked past it a few days later the owner recognized us and gave us a wave!
I absolutely recommend this place for a quick lunch or...
Read moreFood is excellent. Highly recommend the Deliziosa panini. I love the focaccia and it's the owner's own recipe. Way better than anything i had in Rome.
The owner and server i had are both kind and helpful. I ate alone and sometimes i find the Italian restaurants treat you a little lesser than couples and parties, but everyone was great to me. I also only speak English which sometimes makes the restaurants here be a little offputting, but they were happy to speak English with me and give wine recommendations. They also have great local red wine.
What really knocked my socks off about the service is the server asked me about allergy restrictions without any prompting. My wife has some severe allergies and literally no restaurant in Venice or Rome asked before we mentioned it first. You can tell these people care about their customers.
I'm absolutely coming back to try the cold cut platters. Worth...
Read moreThis should be on everybodies list of must visit places in Sorrento. Small unassuming place off the main path. The food was beyond excellent. The owners were extremely gracious and knowledgeable about the food they served. Very reasonable prices and I challenge anyone to leave hungry. The foccacia was amazing, the sandwich I had was overstuffed with ham cheese and tomatoes. All the ingredients were fresh and of great quality. My wife had a tomato, Mozzarella and basil sandwich and order the cheese platter which we all shared. Friends had the italian fried sampler and fries. We had a very good selection of the entire menu and everything we had was delicious. Thank you so much for giving us another memorable meal...
