I personally would not choose to stay here again. There were good things and bad but the bad out weighed the good. Trust me I read all the reviews before coming! The good is that they have a fantastic breakfast and the young woman with curly dark hair is extremely nice. The breakfast was excellent. They gave me the room of my choice for my honeymoon and a fan as I need the white noise to sleep at night which was also very nice of them. And finally there was a lady front desk worker who had dark brown hair whom was exceptionally kind/warm/friendly and helped us load the bags on the taxi. Thank you for doing that. Bad things were: I felt like most of the front desk workers more “all business” so to speak and not that personable! A smile and where are you from goes a long way. The worst thing is and the reason I’d never go back was because they will only give you ONE key which has to stay in a slot in the room if you want to keep the room air conditioned while you are out in the very hot and humid conditions June thru September! Otherwise you come back to a hot room and they won’t allow the air conditioner to go below about 71 degrees but feels much hotter than that due to the muggy conditions. I personally need it cool but if you don’t mind it being warmer like the Italians then it won’t matter to you! The temperature does get cooler at night so it may not bother you. I think what bothered me the most is that they are not upfront about it! They lie and say that they will try to get you another plastic card (which all hotels have and are a dime a dozen) but they never do. The reason is because they are hoping you will get sick of having them let you in the room each time and take the key that shuts off the air conditioner when you pull it out so they can save money even though you are paying almost 400 dollars a night for a room!! But THEY want to control the air conditioner and they have settings at the desk that allow that. I think if you are paying that much money per night…YOUR comfort shouldn’t be their choice!! If they are in the HOSPITALITY business then they need to understand that not everyone is use to the heat and humidity like them. But honestly if they were just honest about the air conditioning policy on their website or when one inquires…that would be okay because at least you can chose before finding out something completely different upon arrival and playing this ridiculous cat and mouse game. I should be able to have 2 keys to my room for my husband...

1.- we book in the hotel Canal Grande but they put us in the hotel in the back (out side) call San Marino.... so we were not at the hotel in front of the canal, when I pay for the hotel in front of the canal.
breakfast is really so so, like 1 start hotel.
2.- The most important, we found BED BUGS at the room and my girlfriend got bit. We told to the receptionist when we were doing the check out. We didn’t ask for any discount, even first and second point, because I didn’t want to argue in the middle of my holidays, I just told her in order to be carful and clean the room. She started arguing with me, giving me excuses. I didn’t even ask for it, and she keep doing until she told me that the BED BUGS are bring by the customers..... then I got angry, and I stoped speaking with her.
I don’t know if they are going to review and clean the room, but with all the excuses she gave me look no, so be carful.
Location is OK (if they put you in the hotel in front....) place decoration is ok, but they dress up for tourist.
Definitely not worth it for the money you pay.
They dress up for turist.
Ella comenzó a discutir conmigo, dándome excusas.
Read moreCame from California with my Fiancé to visit Venice & stayed here for 2 nights in Venice at Hotel Canal Grande just a couple days ago. My experience was soo exceptional. There were no cons, only pros, which is rare for me to say. Out of all of the cities in Europe I stayed at, this one takes the cake and I would absolutely come back just for this hotel stay right on the canal! I recommend them to anyone and everyone! #1 Perfect location... very short walking distance from buses and trains #2 Incredibly hospitable staff... Not only was all of the staff just so nice and helpful with everything, but I had an emergency ad was very sick during my stay, I had a hard time breathing too, I come down to the lobby at like 11pm crying saying I need a doctor. The gentleman called a water taxi for me right away and while waiting for it (literally just a few minutes) he offered me hot tea to help. After being taken care of by the staff at the hospital, I called the hotel back and asked for them to get a water taxi for me to come back. It was a total of $120 Euros all together for the private water taxi but my life was kinda on the line so I really don’t care. Best part is I was so shocked that my hospital bill was only $23 Euros! I was like shocked. Anyways, I get back to the hotel and the other male there asked if I was ok and needed anything, and gave me more tea free of charge! They even asked me the next morning how I was doing. #3 Free Continental breakfast ... omg so this breakfast was full on oozing with so many choices, tea juices, coffee, a bunch of different kinds of pastries, meats like bacon sausage eggs prosciutto salami, etc. I made a breakfast sandwich in a croissant actually. Fresh cut fruits galore. I mean this I could call a smorgasbord haha! #4 Affordable ... I believe my stay was very well priced especially for the view of the canal I had and the amazing Venetian room I had! #5 Beautifullly decorated and gorgeous clean rooms with beautiful floors. Windows that open up everywhere in the room with fresh air from the canal.
That pretty much sums up my experience and they will get my business again as well as any friends or colleagues of my that travel to Venice. Best hotel stay actually ever, even though I...
