Trattoria Alle Lance — Restaurant in Venice

Perfect tourist trap. Bad food. Staff was rude. The spaghetti was uncooked and when we mentioned this to the staff, he said we don’t know what Italian food is. We travel pretty often to Italy as we live in Germany and have already had spaghetti from multiple places. Anyways he took it away and brought another plate which was no better. The way he took a new spoon and put into the food was so rude. Then he just sat there and told us to taste the food and give feedback and it was like challenging us to say something bad. Our family with a young kid was offered two dinners here during our stay in Venice at the restaurant's owners' hotel. The restaurant is located in a small, quiet ally inside a crowded, touristic area and is not difficult to find. It was an interesting experience to us as tourists trying local dishes that we did not fully understand what they were before ordering, dishes that otherwise we would not have ordered. So we came here twice. The restaurant was not very busy at the time we visited, and we were served by the restaurant owners. They are happy people and there was nothing to complain about the service. We visited this restaurant for lunch because of the good reviews, and were not disappointed. The staff (owner and waitresses) were very courteous and friendly despite being so busy serving all the customers. We ordered the “tourist set menu” (fish and spaghetti) and enjoyed the quality and large portion of the dishes very much. I especially liked the delicious small fried fish.

We also came back in the night to order a pizza to take out. The waitress was really helpful in finding the kind of pizza we were thinking of ordering, which we appreciated very much. The prices were all very reasonable.
