Gelato Fantasy San Marco 929 — Restaurant in Venice

The worst service experience of my life. First we queued for 15 min only to hear that milkshakes can't be made now, because the only employee had a situation with wrongly charged ice cream (initially there were 3 employees, but two of them disappeared into the back room). Then we were told that they have another concept next door and asked to do business there. Well, we walked there and surprise surprise this stall didn't make milkshakes, only fresh smoothies so we got yogurt ice creams. The yogurt ice cream ran out and this seller also disappeared somewhere in the back room to get more. A line of irritated people gathered behind us. We got the ice creams and decided to go and correct the misconception about milkshakes, whereupon the seller, who was still in the situation, promised to make us one smoothie for free as compensation. Only the banana was left and that was it for us. After this, people again gathered behind us and the seller didn't sell them even one Coca cola because the men who had been overcharged were still arguing about it and covered the entire ice cream sample window standing in front of it. We assumed that she was making our milkshake, but after 10 minutes of waiting, she came to announce that she didn't have time to make it now, and...

Visiting Venice was a mistake but this gelato place almost redeems the chaotic place. My husband and I couldn’t get enough of this gelato. We discovered the two days before leaving so the last day there we had this gelato twice. It is just a counter so no place to sit to enjoy it. They have so many vegan options which is a rarity anywhere. We are dark chocolate loyalists but also tried the chocomint, and pistachio which were also delicious. We don’t plan to ever return to Venice even for the gelato though. 😅 Adults more often than not lose their childlike enchantment and awe but gelato always brings us back. Cute, colourful gelataria with lots of unique flavours. There are vegan options too 🌱 I initially wanted sacher, but the lady was nice enough to inform us that it had a strong alcohol taste and let us try to see if we really like it 🙏 We didn’t and got brownie and pecan instead. Really nice to see the lady scoop generously and include some of the toppings for us (most servers just scoop the gelato) 🫶 Brownie was a little sweet but good! Pecan was really enjoyable – nutty, sweet and somewhat smokey (idk if this is accurate 😆) I’ve never seen this flavour elsewhere so plus points for that.
