By far, the best meal of our entire Italy trip!! Please have patience — this is a smaller restaurant with very hardworking staff. This isn’t a spot for a ‘quick bite’ as much as it is where you go to relax, people watch, and truly enjoy a glass of wine and homemade meal. The two photos are views of the river next to the restaurant and the quiet street it is located on. We went for a late dinner (8:30pm) and had an exceptional experience! Flavors are delicious and perfectly balanced, and pasta is fresh and cooked to perfection! I still dream of the ragu that I ordered on a whim. Vibe is a healthy mix of locals and vacationers wandering in, but note that they don’t market themselves ‘to tourists.’ Everyone was very friendly, professional, and patient with us even if there was some language barriers at times! My only regret is not ordering a second plate and staying longer to keep enjoying this place! We will recommend to anyone finding their way into town!!!

Delightful canal-side osteria, tucked into a corner, with both indoor and outdoor seating. Inside tables can be small and intimate, or large and social. Chairs are comfortable (rare in Italy). But the best are the staff, which instantly made me feel so welcome that I broke my own rule of always going out some place different in order to come back to this place. The food was well presented, appropriately sized, delicious, and from a menu with a nice variety of options but not so long that the kitchen could not fulfill its promise of food lovingly prepared. The waiter made excellent wine pairing selections and the pace of the meal was relaxed. Music was the right volume, balancing a festive atmosphere with conversation. In all, I loved the place and will be back when I return to Venice.

The QUANTITY of food is HIGHLY questionable. What you see in the photo is 25 eur. Ordered the fish of the day:cod. It was about 150g(?) It's not lile they don't have fish in the area, come on!! The white wine (the house wine) was flavoury. Nothing to complain about. I've requested them to change the order without touching it and was denied. The waiter had some attitude in him. When hearing my complaints, he continued to say "this is your opinion", instead of just saying "I understand" and to communicate it to the chef or boss. They were kind to bring extra 2 bread snacks with salmon on top and asparagus creme. What cost the most was my peace of mind and disposition.

Dropped in here hoping for a meal on the Sunday 3rd March 2024, as I'd seen good reviews and we felt lucky as it as was practically empty. It turns out there was probably a good reason it was empty! The waiter (bald head & glasses), was about as welcoming and helpful as teenager who's just had their smart phone taken off them. While we were looking at the menu, WE had to ask if we could have some drinks. We tried to order a Spritz, but he told us they only do authentic Venetian drinks, none of the American rubbish like spritz or negroni! (We aren't American, and who mentioned negroni). I brushed his rudeness under the carpet as thought that maybe he's had a long day. Then he proceeds to offer us zero recommendations on what he will allow us to drink! So as the restaurant seem to make a big deal about their craft beers and we like ales I again had to ask "what beer do you have". To which he replied "we have a nice Pilsner on draught", which we tried and was just ok (i would have preferred a bottle of Ichnusa to be honest!). So while we are looking at the Menu, the waiter makes zero engagement with us and zero recommendations for any of the dishes. I could normally forgive this if the place was full and the staff were busy, but it was EMPTY! We drank half of our drinks, paid and left. I hope the owner reads this and shows it to the waiter. As this guy is losing you money and getting you bad reviews! I would highly recommend skipping this place and heading across the canal to the Mariner, friendly welcoming staff and...

Massively underrated. This place has a great concept, high quality food and drinks and extremely competent friendly staff. The prices are also great for this value.

The owner took a lot of time to explain the menu to us which features mostly regional products including tomatoes from his own garden.

As a passionate home cook myself i was blown away by the taste of the food and as a passionate drunkyard tasting through the wine and whiskey menu was a delight.

We were lucky enough to stay at a hotel next door and even though our goal was to try many different places, we always ended up in the marcianino.

After paying the same price for frozen pizza somewhere around san marco it really felt like coming home when arriving back at our favorite cannaregio osteria.

Greetings to Alvise and the rest...
