Casa Perbellini 12 Apostoli — Restaurant in Verona

We had a few hours drive from another city to have a dinner experience in Casa Perbellini . Unfortunately our reservation was done for 2 but we were 3 . We didn’t think it would be such a big deal as we booked our dinner 1 day in advance . We arrived 15 minutes prior to our reservation and they didn’t let us in , asking to wait outside till the time of our reservation . We came back at 7:30 pm , which is 15 min later , looked like they’ve just opened as we were the onlyguests there . We were so excited and were pretty hungry after a long way , but a lady at the door quickly changed our mood by telling us in a very cold and unfriendly way that our booking is for 2 and we are 3 and they can’t find an extra chair for a third person . Not to mention at 7:30 pm we were the only ones there ! We were bagging her to find a way to accommodate us but she was very cold and unfriendly, not willing to make it happen . After loosing all hopes we asked to recommend us any other good restaurant where we can have a dinner as we are not locals . Again she said no , she doesn’t know any and mentioned that anyways everywhere will be fully booked at this hour . We felt like completed loosers . And what really shocked us she asked us to pay a compensation !!!! 40 euro per person ! We don’t mind paying , we would have spent much more at this restaurant by ordering expensive wine and set menus. But , seriously, after all this attitude to ask us to pay ? Not even apologising in a polite and friendly way and not being able to recommend another restaurant she asked for compensation!!! This restaurant doesn’t deserve any stars ! It’s not a hospitality of this kind of a restaurant. We ended up going to the restaurant next door where we’ve been welcomed and accommodated in a friendly italian way Will never be back to Casa Perbellini and will not recommend it to any of our...

I would give it a 0 for client experience. We did not get to taste the food. Incapable is the nicest thing I can call them. We showed up at the restaurant at 20:50, or 25 mins before our reservation. When we come in we find ourselves without one; it had been given away. I pulled up the email confirmation I had received two weeks prior. The manager, some young apprentice of a host named Barbara proceeded to tell me that she had sent me another email that same day at 12:37 asking for confirmation. I have Gmail. There is no way to permanently delete an email( at least that I know of), I can assure with total certainty that I did not receive an email from them after the original confirmation. When asked why she had not called, she proceeded to say she did, but I did not answer. There is no missed called or voice message to confirm it. My phone provider also sends me am SMS when my phone is off and someone tried to reach me. No SMS. I must have given her the wrong number. Bottom line, we travelled to Verona from 600km away, and one or the main reasons was this dinner. The hostess decided to give the table away without any reasonable or timely efforts to confirm it. There was no explanation of the confirmation policy in our first exchange. In the original message it specifically says my table is confirmed. You can imagine both the disappointment and frustration. For good measure, as she is kicking us out, she proceeds to suggest "other restaurants we have". All finesse and delicacy, this wonderful host. As you can imagine, we turned her down, in a more polite manner than she deserved. I guess business is good enough that they can afford to behave in this manner. This summer was our parents 40 year anniversary and we decided to take my parents to Lake Garda for some days. For their anniversary we decided to go to Verona and doing some research stumbled upon a few good reviews of this restaurant and ended up booking a table for the evening. We could have not made a better choice of a restaurandand could not have imagined a better head waiter than Rossano for a special night like this.

Right when arriving at the restaurant there was a bottle of Champaign ready for us on the house and upon finding out the occasion we were celebrating he made a great effort to make this evening a special night for our group of 9.

He created on the spot a great meal of several appetizers to try a great suggestion for the main course for all, and had these amazing creme brullees ready for dessert.

In addition he organized for our parents to receive a personalized plate the restaurant sells, which was a very sweet detail.

All in all this night turned out to be so much better than my family could have ever asked too and will be a very beautiful memorie and all this thanks to a very nice restaurant with amazing food and outstanding service.

If you want to experience an outstanding evening this is the place to go.
