This was sadly the worst restaurant we ate at during our lovely trip to Verona. The food was fine, but the staff unfortunately let the whole experience down. The restaurant was not busy at all, but the staff treated us very strangely. They took our order relatively quickly and brought the food out very fast, but when they came to clear away the plates they didn’t ask us how the food was, or offer us any dessert menus (even though we really wanted dessert!). They kept coming and clearing away things on our table without offering us the dessert menu, so after the main course we decided to leave and go somewhere else. They didn’t even bring the bill to our table, so we had to go up to the counter to pay, and they made it seem like we were a big inconvenience to them from start to finish. We just felt very unwelcome here, like we had broken some rule of theirs that we weren’t aware of, and we were glad to leave! Such a shame on our last night in Verona, when we have had such nice experiences with lovely staff elsewhere. I was also quite shocked to read the owner’s rude and inappropriate replies to negative reviews on here - that tells you all you need to know about them! Definitely would not recommend, despite the pretty views - there are lots of places with impeccable service in the city, and this...
Read moreWe've eaten at or stopped at this cafe quite a few times. Coffee, dinner, ice cream, or spritz, all have been good and fairly priced for the quality.
My personal favorite is the. . . Something braised beef with polenta. Local dish. Trust me, it's delicious. My wife enjoys the octopus and the Sichuan pepper salmon. My daughter is fond of the spaghetti carbonara. Pizzas aren't bad, but aren't the best.
Once you're done eating, definitely sit and relax, watch everyone go by. It's a beautiful location.
Even just stop at the bar, have a coffee. They use Pellini (forget Illy) so it's super good.
The only negative I can think of is that their menu seems pretty static. Also there's no house wine on tap so it's only bottles. Good wine selection but it ups the price of a meal and is where they make their money. No big deal given their competitive prices on the food. After its all said and done the prices balance out.

Read moreDuring a recent work trip, I had the pleasure of dining at Emanuel Café, and I must say, it was a delightful experience. We started with the antipasti, which was a beautifully arranged platter of fresh and flavorful ingredients that set the tone for the meal. Following that, I indulged in their pizza and carbonara, both of which were simply delicious.
While the prices are not the cheapest, the idyllic location and charming atmosphere more than justify the expense. What truly elevated our experience was our waitress, Sabina. She was attentive and spoke excellent English, making us feel welcome and well taken care of.
Our original plan was to enjoy some early evening drinks, but Sabina’s outstanding service convinced us to stay for a full meal, and I couldn't be happier with that decision.
I highly recommend Emanuel Café for anyone looking to enjoy a fantastic meal in a lovely setting. You will not be...
