What's up fam! First time for me in Verona, maybe for you too, sooo let's get it! As always I explored with my company the city instead of searching for something!! Soo the small little avenue we took ended at the piazzza bra next to the well known Arena di Verona!! In the meantime we also found a small little café with the best and cheapest cappuccino I've had in my life buuutt this is for a other review! So let's go back! The pizzeria/restaurant "La Costa in bra" was the first one from over 20 other taverns which caught my eye! My instinct was like "Yup that's the right one" So we sat, the waitress came in less than a minute and helped us out with the different kinds of pizzas I've never actually had heard of! Anyways, we ordered and my expectations were low on the size of the pizzas! But chokes on me, the pizzas were massive at a pretty fair price! The crust was perfect crispy as well as soft! The cheese melted on spot so it doesn't burn and the ingredients were extra fine selected!! All in all a perfect meal with the awesome vibe of a big plazza and the view on the massive arena! Kids were playing and running around, people talking, musicians playing local music and even more😉 And what is an Italian meal without a traditional gelato nearly for free? Legit it was the best ice cream I had in a while!! So to sum up the "La costa in Bra" is an awesome gastronomic experience so you'll keep Verona in mind!! -But Flynn why 4 stars then? Because they charge 2€ per person for a bamboo napkin you can choose not to use(They have normal napkins don't worry) So if you don't wanna wonder when you get the receipt, just say you don't need the extra napkin!!😉 But even after that I would still go there for sure again! The food was delicious! Alright fam c ya until the next review ❤ Take care and I hope my review...
Read moreI ordered the bruscetta with mozzarella and tomatoes. The mozzarella was incredibly bland and watery, and there was a distinct lack of olive oil on the majority of both bruscettas. Only a small portion of one of the two bruscettas had spices and herbs on them. To add to this insult to bruscettas as a whole is that the bread was just regular bread, not toasted in a pan or even heated, so it was incredibly soggy. The tomatoes were nice, though.
I also ordered the tortellini, which turned out to be a huge disappointment. The tomato-sauce tasted like it came directly from a can, as did the rest of the dish. It had obviously been microwaved in a microwave with a broken turntable as half of the food on my plate was ice-cold, and the other half was steaming hot with exploded tortellini.
I also ordered a Coca-Cola as I got the food. This cola did not arrive until 20 minutes after I ordered it, when it was too late for it to be of any use to me during my meal.
The biggest problem with this restaurant, to me, is that they are trying to save money on the food, cut down food-production times and turn up the cost of the food whilst turning as many tables as possible in order to squeeze as many people as possible through in one night in order to get more money. This restaurant is essentially a cash-cow for the owners and a shame for this beautiful city, and should not be allowed on their...
Read moreWow, what can I say an amazing place. We went because GLUTEN FREE flagged up on Google maps but when we got there we could not believe the volume of gluten free pizzas we could have, even Calzone which is pretty much impossible anywhere else in the world.
The service was amazing too, there was a particular waiter with an amazing sense of humour and tremendous intelligence and knowledge about countries and regions, it was like watching a magician at work, he looked at the lady opposite and said “bit colder than Morocco” she was confused about how he knew she was from Morocco. Outside he saw a man shaking in the cold and went and wrapped a blanket around him. Then a table of German people walked in but without saying anything he greeted them in German. It’s the little touches and characters like this waiter that make an experience an incredible one.
Great food, great service, great fun…. And hot chocolate that’s so I axing it could turn you diabetic (meant in a good way).
