Osteria Puntara is a refreshing and peaceful place to eat at in the heart of Verona. This place is not a tourist trap like many other restaurants in Verona. Once we were seated and had ordered drinks, we noticed the place start to fill up with 90% Italian families and couples. That’s when we realised we chose the right spot. My wife ordered an asparagus carbonara and I ordered a beef steak sided with a potato mash and gravy. The slow cooked meat was so soft it cut like butter and my wife’s carbonara was just as good. Lasagna was delicious, but the other pasta we got had curry on it, which was very confusing and not necessary. The worst part was the bathroom situation. Only one bathroom for the restaurant, so entire time there was a line. I finally braved and went to stand in line and eventually got there. Read moreLovely restaurant with modern decor serving honest food. We had a starter of Octopus, which was very well-cooked, served with smoked burrata and lovely sauces. My daughter had pasta with mussels and tomatoes, again, very well executed.
We shared a main of steak with potatoes and salad. The steak could do with more seasoning and a tad overcooked for us. It came medium but we preferred medium rare. (We were not asked how we liked our steak).
