Hokkaido Ramen Hayatemaru — Restaurant in Chatan

Best tsukemen I’ve had in Japan. Its located in the building with the bowling alley in american village Minama. The entire shopping center has ample parking and the place gets busy on the weekends. The ramen and tsukemen (dipping noodles) is my favorite here in Japan and its in Okinawa. We were here a decade ago and couldn’t believe that this place is still open and going strong. A bit different from all the Hokaido ramen I had before. Less salty less oily also the soup is not as thick as usual. Taste ok camper to several other ramen I had in Okinawa tho. This place has always been great, but I went recently and it has taken a turn for the worse. I don’t know if there is a new chef or what, but everything was much lower quality this time. The tsukemen noodles, which are usually amazing, were not fully cooked and not tasty. The miso ramen which was great, now uses cheaper noodles and not as tasty. The half boiled eggs weren’t even good. And the gyoza… could not even eat more than two. ...
