Originally I stopped in because I wanted to try the coffee. When I entered I was taken back by how big the cafe was and how nicely decorated. The seating areas looked very comfortable and inviting. The menu was much larger then I expected, with many options. There’s something for everyone, whether you’re looking for portions that are sweet, savory, small or large! I grabbed a Hawaii Kona Cafe Au’Lait and enjoyed the view while I waited for my friends to arrive. It was a little on the pricy side at 700 yen but well worth it. Once my friends had arrived at American Village we decided to have brunch at Kona’s after we’d done some shopping and we were so glad we did! The pancakes were absolutely delightful! Fluffy, sweet and with many toppings to choose from. I got the classic Hawaiian pancakes with whipped cream and chocolate syrup. My tastebuds were in heaven! My friend got the grilled shrimp avocado salad and loved every bite! The prices range from 480 yen to about 2000 yen depending on how much food you want. Most of the servings are big enough to share. Since my first coffee wa so good I had to try another and opted for the caramel macchiato for 580 yen. It was topped with their creamy whipp and drizzled with a sweet caramel sauce, which I liked a lot. I slurped it down and knew I had found my favorite coffee spot in American Village! This was a perfect brunch spot and has a parking lot in the center of American Village. It opens at 11 am and if you get there early you won’t have to worry about grabbing a spot or a table. I wish the cafe did open sooner so I could get coffee from them in the morning! That’s probably their only downfall-they open from 11am-11pm M-F and 10am-11pm Sat & Sun. I definitely plan on coming back with my husband and kids because I know they will love it! Especially after I saw they have short ribs on the menu! The meat menus are a little pricier ranging from about 25000 yen -35000 yen. If you’re doing some shopping or exploring in the area, I urge...
Read morePretty terrible. Food felt greasy & low quality. Anything fried taste overly greasy like the fryer was not at proper temp or maybe needs to be cleaned (for example the fries looked wet from grease and the chicken had a bad taste) 😬. The lemonaid was basically sugar water, no lemon taste, very sweet.. you must add water to it to make it drinkable. The servers are nice and the atmosphere cute but my husband got his meal & drink way before me and was basically done by the time I got mine (not that either of us ate it all bc it was yucky) so kinda sucked as a table of 2 . I wouldn’t recommend going here, definitely don’t get the nachos they are cheap Doritos covered in cold chili 🤣. If you do go I suggest only ordering pancakes or coffee (they are okay). Everything else is pretty bad. Will leave you feeling kinda depressed and blah, like a waste of ¥4200 and calories. Much better option in AV. I don’t think my husband has ever left a review in his life and he said he wanted to leave one that just said “terrible food, gross”. Lol… I feel bad I suggested going. It looked good in the pictures. So long story short, I do not recommend. As someone born & raised in Hawaii this is far from Hawaiian style food in any way 🤣 I’m glad I did go so at least I know...
Read moreWe waited quite a while to order, the our food came out in stages (after another long wait). We waited over 30 minutes for my toddler's food and when I said we had to go, they asked if I could wait another 7. It was me and 4 kids under 8, and people who arrived (significantly) after us had already gotten their food. I said no, they said they would take it off my check. We go up front, I pay, and leave. Turns out, they still charged me for the meal I didn't receive. And it was around 1500¥, so not cheap. They don't have a children's menu, so the outing was already quite expensive. The food was good, but not good enough for the lack of service. They never offered me a toddler chair, despite clearly having a toddler who was trying to free-roam. No one refilled our waters. It was unclear if we had a specific waiter because different people brought menus/took our order/brought our food. I even tried to call someone to ask about our food, said "sumimasen", the woman looked at me and never came back to the table. Overall unimpressed. This is not the place to receive Okinawan service, this is a place to get tourist...
