It is a shame given the excellent location of the hotel.. it is almost a perfect setting for a horror movie. The entrance is messy and uninviting, the staff ( family run inn) were unfriendly and speaks little to no english. The corridors and bathrooms are eerie and dirty. We arrived fairly late due to train delays and unfortunately were escorted to our third floor room with no help offered. We were hustled in and bruqesely told to make payments immediately which may be hotel policy but only came across as hostile. The only saving grace was a view of Mount Fuji from our room and a small bar/cafe next door which served us hot food despite it being so late. A word of advice..don't stay unless u have a fairly good grasp of the Japanese language.A truly eye...

Read moreThis ryokan is right next to the train station. Doesn't have much else immediately surrounding. It's a little too far to walk to Lake Kawaguchi, we had to drive to get anywhere interesting. Parking is in a dirt lot at the bottom of a steep slope.||||There's an amazing view of Mount Fuji right outside the hotel. || ||The ryokan and rooms look and feel tired and old. My friend and my rooms were basic and clean, with shared bathroom and sinks. The bathrooms were not clean, there were large brown stains in the squat toilets. The hotel has a men and women's onsen which was old but clean. ||||The room price was good, and I guess you get what...
