I went for lunch at South Indian Spice Cuisine Kalyamdu and I must say, it was an incredible experience. The food was nothing short of delicious, with flavors that transported me straight to the heart of India. The pumpkin coconut curry was particularly outstanding—rich, creamy, and perfectly balanced with the natural sweetness of the pumpkin. It was truly a treat for the taste buds.

The rasam was another highlight, and I was amazed at how authentic it tasted. The balance of spices, tanginess, and warmth was spot-on. Despite being prepared by Japanese chefs, the food had the true taste of South India, showing their dedication and expertise in bringing those flavors to life.

I highly recommend this place to anyone in the area looking for an authentic South Indian meal. It's a rare gem where quality and authenticity shine through, and I can’t wait to return for another...

Got an authentic vegetarian South Indian Thali with rice, dal, rasam, papad, pickle, raita and two veg subzi of the day. It tasted like home food. The chai was fantastic as well. I am shocked to find this kind of food in Kawaguchiko out of all places!

I was pleasantly surprised to meet the chef and owner, both of whom are Japanese yoga enthusiasts who learned to cook Indian food through YouTube. The flavor was really indistinguishable from an Indian home cooked meal 😲

I also learned from the owners that they are going on a trip to India soon, so we chatted about that for a while.

very delicious food! Visited there last month June'23 with Indian family visiting over... I'm an Indian and impressed with the Japanese chef - he seems to know spices well, which one blends well with what, to create a perfect taste. It is definitely one of the best Indian food I have in japan. would love to visit again every-time I visit Kawaguchiko!

only feedback I will give - (having "South Indian" in the name was a bit confusing as an India, initially bit disappointed because there was no south indian food options in the menu - dosa, idli etc,- but after having tasted the food we were still...
