I was introduced to Ramen Unari by a fifty-year-old man with whom I had been drinking on a Thursday evening. Even though it was late night (it was past 2:30 am when I arrived) on a weekday, there still was a small queue. The item that the local gentleman had recommended was the gyokai tonkotsu (seafood tonkotsu), so I ordered that, via the ubiquitous vending machine, with the additional topping of a tamago.
As for the food, I can say that it was one of the most 'refreshing' tonkotsu ramen I've ever had. The pork broth infused with seafood broth and leek creates a fresh flavour that one would rarely associate with the traditional pork broth. The noodle, which I asked to me cooked as katamen, felt a bit soft to me, but tamago and chachu were nicely prepared.
Since I am not a fan of fresh leek and onions that heavily influence the flavour of gyokai tonkotsu, I feel that I would probably still prefer a traditional tonkotsu broth if I were to have a bowl of ramen for lunch or dinner. However, after a night of drinking, Ramen Unari's seafood infused broth is probably one of the most satisfying things...
Read moreCame here for a late night food finisher after hovering around the Yatai Stalls and Food Trucks earlier. We visited around 10pm on a Saturday and there was around a 20 minute wait to get a seat.
First found this location on an "Only in Japan" video and, like the video, would recommend this as a great place to get ramen.
You can get a bowl for around 820 Yen, which is an absolute steal for the quality you get here. The broth is a little lighter compared to other Tonkotsu Ramen, so it's easy on the stomach after a night out.
The basic bowl comes with simple toppings, but everything is done well. The Chashu is really good, and the spring onions are fresh and go very well with the soup. The noodles are equally as good. Sometimes just doing the simple things well is the way to go. A very satisfying bowl.
The shop is open from 6pm - 6am, so no matter how late you stay out during the night this shop will still be open for you to come and finish...

Hakata, the old city of Fukuoka, has been the gateway to Asia since 700 years. The temperament to accept new and unusual things from overseas has been handed down today.
Ramen Unari, which will be introduced this time, combined the genovese sauce with tonkotsu. The name is Ramen Genova.
The surface of the ramen Genova that turned green at a glance that turned out to be Genovese was like pasta.
However, the affinity between pork and basil is good, as if it was a ramen made by an Italian person.
Although Unari has 5 stores in total, only 3 stores can eat this Ramen Genova. It is a very attractive ramen restaurant with a limited menu...
