Wisteria — Restaurant in Hakone

A great cafe within 5 min. walking distance of the train station. The cafe has been around for over 100 years, and it is a good place to stop by for some food or drinks while in the area or waiting for your train. Note if coming from the train station cross the bridge and use the elevator, the cafe is right above it. The coffee to be honest was ok at best, could be better. Maybe I just didn't like the beans or what but tasted cheap or machine made. The food was quite good and they had a good selection to choose from seafood, burger, pasta, and some Japanese dishes. We enjoyed our quick brunch and we're happy to find a place to sit down, eat, have coffee while we rest our feet waiting for our train to come. If I find myself in the Hakone area again I'd stop by again and try another dish. I got the hamburger and my wife had the shrimp sandwich. Both were very good. I feel the burger patty, itself, could have been better and the coffee, hence the 4 stars on the food but overall I'd give it 5 stars and come again. 箱根でランチに立ち寄りました。 ミックスプレートをオーダーしました。 ナポリタン、ハンバーグ、カニクリーミーコロッケ、パン、サラダ、コーヒーのセットです。 食後にプリンを追加。 プレート内の見た目とは違い、一つ一つにボリュームがあります。 ハンバーグのデミグラスソースも濃厚で、肉も厚みがあります、ナポリタンは昔ながらの味つつエビも入っていてよかった。 カニクリーミーコロッケもクリームが濃厚で、かつソースと絡めて食べてるのでまたさらに美味しい。 プリンは、昔ながらの硬めプリンです。 これはこれで美味しいです。 パン売り場もありますが、宮ノ下のピコットとは種類が違うようです。箱根湯本駅前にも店舗がありますが、取り扱うパンの種類が違います。 宮ノ下のピコットのミートパイが目当てでしたが、宮ノ下店しか置いてないのが残念です。 次回は、宮ノ下のフジヤホテル、ピコット...
