This is an amazing spot for a tea tasting! Shoko was an amazing hostess who prepared and served me my tea. I had no reservation but they were able to accommodate. I was shown a few tasting menu options, including listed prices for each. I chose three teas and then was taken to the tea room. Teas were brought dry so I could see and smell them, displayed with their names hand written. Then Shoko prepared hot water and various steeping and serving vessels. Each of the three teas was brewed three times so I could experience how they changed and tasted differently. A few sweets were given in a lovely tray with the most delicate, slender chopsticks. After the tea tasting I was able to walk through their small gift shop before settling my bill. Gracious and kind staff and a calm, lovely place to relax.

お茶の在り方を提案するティーサロン♡ 150種類の日本茶とそれに合わせたお菓子やお料理 そして日本酒も楽しむことができる 夢のような癒し空間です 此方は、いつも楽しく拝見させていただいているインスタグラマーさんの投稿で知りました 訪問時は食べログ投稿はほぼゼロでしたが◯間さんのHPを見たら私の大好きな要素が詰まったお店とわかり行きたくて！行きたくて！ 友人も誘い事前予約し伺わせていただきました ◆場所 世界遺産『東寺』から南へ300m お店の前の道からは東寺の五重塔が目の前に見える素敵な場所 ◆雰囲気 大正末期に炭問屋として建てられた趣のある外観 店内はもちろんリノベーションされていますが ただ古い物を集めただけの古民家カフェとは全く異なり、その芸術性の高さに驚きました 此方は〝継ぐ〟をコンセプトにデザイナー酒井俊明さんが空間デザインされたとのことで、どこに目を向けても美しく感じることができます 広いカウンター席の目の前のレトロな板ガラスに映る緑、振り返ると広がる見事な天井梁 味わい深い土壁や壁一面に高く並べられた建具の演出も堪らなく楽しい空間になっています また、今をときめく有名な作家さんの器や アロマなど心を癒す品々にも心を奪われます ◆接客 お店の雰囲気にピッタリの素敵な方が 食材や食器・日本茶や日本酒ことを とにかく丁寧に話してくださいます 話し方やお振る舞いその全ても美しく 接客にも癒されて…実は軽い昼食をいただく為に訪問しましたが気づけば4時間くらい(*'▽'*) 至福の時間を過ごさせていただきました ◆オーダー ★茶出汁のお茶漬け御膳（1500円） ・生ハムと山葵 ・長芋のラー油漬け ・ほろふき大根のバターなめこ餡 ・ゴーヤとあげの胡麻タレがけ ・出汁巻き玉子 ・舞茸の生姜煮 ・茶葉と鰹のお出汁でいただくお茶漬け 本当はお茶漬けに合うおばんざいがセットされた御膳なのですが…この日は日本酒で（笑） それがまた♡日本酒にもピッタリのおばんざい 最後にサラサラっといただいたお茶漬けは すっかり冷めていたのに！めちゃくちゃ美味 お米やお出汁にも拘る◯間さんは 何を食べても優しさ満載で心も身体も癒されます ★茶妙1200円 お茶をお菓子にかけたら完成するお菓子です インスタ映えするために考案されたお菓子ではなく ただただお茶やお菓子を楽しく美味しくいただくために作られた芸術品のようなお菓子です 『雪平』『薄皮饅頭』『季節乃』の3種類があります 日本古来の食材にハーブやバターなどもあわせて より楽しい味わいになっていました ★日本酒 この日は特別に(//∇//) 珍しいお酒を高価な錫の器や有名な作家さんの盃で 飲ませてくださいました ※現在のランチは5000円のコースのみ 様々なイベントも開催されている◯間さん 京都に行く度に必ず行きたくなるお店ですが なかなか時間が作れていないのが現状です 近くにあれば週1回ペースで通いたい 隠れ家的な癒し空間です

Above expectation. Really nice tea servings and the staff members really love what they are doing. They speak reasonable English and try their best to convey the message. I enjoyed my time there and will want to be back. Recommended to go by bartenders in the city’s top bar so should not be wrong (same line of business anyway lol)

Unfortunately I had a very disappointing experience here. We did the “tea ceremony” which we thought would be like the other tea ceremonies that we’ve done in Japan before where we taste different teas. This was not at all this - they served us one small (and I mean small) cup of matcha as part of how a “tea ceremony” was held traditionally. That was it. The amount of matcha was truly a joke, and to top it off, it was 4400 yen per person. We paid 8800 yen for half a cup of matcha each. Felt like being robbed.

When we arrived, the staff clearly seemed delayed and overwhelmed with too many customers, and we stood in the (cold) reception for 25 minutes before we got seated.

Do yourself a big favor and book...

Beautiful experience to truly enjoy tea in it's finest form. This place offers a wide range of tea from Japan, Taiwan, and China. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and passionate about their craft towards tea.

I tried Gyokuro and it was the best tea that I've ever had in my life! I also purchased the beautiful teaware they carry that is made of high quality porcelain. They carry a wide range of matcha bowls, tea cups, and tea kettles.

MA is located inside of a 100+ year old building and the atmosphere creates a sense of peace. Located near Kyoto station and right outside of...
