Kitakaze to Taiyo Kitchen & Wine — Restaurant in Kyoto

A wonderful dining experience. We enjoyed the 11 course chef's menu. I have eaten at some famous Michelin stared and 50 best restaurants and this tops almost all of them. With that in mind, it was incredible value for money. We were the only diners that night so it felt like a private luxury dining experience. I would highly recommend this restaurant. I suspect over time it will get a more renowned reputation.

We sat at the counter and enjoyed the theatre of it all. The quality of the food was exceptionally good. The food was distinctly french with Japanese twists. The presentation was absolutely perfect and theatrical at times. All the 11 courses were phenomenal.

The only downside (small one) I would say is the decor in some parts of the restaurant...with big chunky booths. But sitting at the bar was perfect and I could see the chef preparing food.

we have a wonderful memory at restaurant ai last week. Following a warm welcome and be sit, we are briefed and then into the dinner. Very nice food by the team with great cooking skill, a lot of attention and great work on selection of fresh/season local ingredients. it is bar table and we also found the cooking is quite enjoyable, that we can see how the chef and team prepare the foods in front of you, it is a performance! Wines pairing with foods also selected nicely worked out with foods very much. I'm surprised with a wine made by japan chateau which taste very close to a elegent burgundy old wine. AMAZING Italian in Kyoto!!!! Best Italian I’ve had in all my travels thus far! We had the most WONDERFUL dining experience here this week! The food was spectacular, the setting sublime, and the service was warm perfection! From the start, we were offered lovely wine choices with each course, the appetizers, entrees, and desserts were all outstanding. And the service…the service was SO warm and friendly. We felt like members of the family! We loved the setting! We were seated at the bar and were able to witness our meal as it came to fruition. They even encouraged splitting certain dishes and served them individually! What a delight! We would come back here all day every day if our schedule allowed.
