From this date today, 26th of September of 2025, this place has only been for maybe 10 days but I will say this, the chef, the staff and the food were freaking phenomenal! They were so nice and accommodating. Also, very friendly and can actually carry an interesting conversation when engaged. Their English is limited but the chef can speak pretty decent English. So please be patient when communicating with them. They really went the distance. NOW, as far as our experience, and again, not to fault them, but, we abruptly showed up with 6 adults and 2 kids. They didn’t really have space but they sat us down in a private room. With that, the locale is really small, but I’m sure they’ll end up expanding. Also, because they were not prepared for us to show up, the food took a really long time. We were there for about 4 hours. And the set, instead of coming out all at once, only came out one dish at a time and the plates took about 30 to 40 mins each.
With that being said, they were extremely apologetic and made sure we were taken care of. I’m sure, in a few months to maybe a few years time, this place will be very successful! And I am really hoping for their success because the food was sooooo good! The ribeye though can be fatty; the sirloin and fillet are probably the best! Also, it’s quite expensive so be prepared to spend some money. It’s a set course with a desert at the end.
Still, it was an exquisite dinner and I wish the chef and the crew the best success with their business. Thank you...
Read moreWe stumbled upon this restaurant one night while wandering through one of Kyoto’s quiet, rain-damp alleys - one of those unplanned moments that end up being unforgettable.
The place looked inviting, so we decided to try it - and it turned out to be the best decision of the night. We were warmly welcomed and offered a private room, which made the evening feel even more special.
Every dish was beautifully done - from the fish and the delicate egg dish to the Kobe beef, which was absolutely perfect. But what truly made the night memorable was the owner, Shinya. Communicating through translators and laughter, we shared stories, jokes, and so much joy. His energy and kindness were contagious.
It wasn’t just a meal - it was a wonderful connection. If we ever return to Kyoto, we’ll come back here just to say hello to Shinya and enjoy their amazing food again.
Hey Shinya - if you have the photo you took with us, could you please share it? We’d...
Read moreChef Ricky and his team are amazing! We didn’t even have a reservation, but he still found a way to squeeze us in — and somehow made us feel like honored guests the whole time.
Every bite was perfection, especially the beef — tender, flavorful, and clearly made with love. You can tell Chef Ricky pours his heart into everything he creates. The whole experience had such a fun, upbeat energy — his personality shines just as brightly as his cooking.
The team around him was just as wonderful — warm, attentive, and clearly passionate about what they do. We left full, happy, and already talking about when we...
