Many red and white pizza choices. "Lasagna" and "Calabrese" pizzas were very fresh for all ingredients - from cheese, toppings and dough. Wine added for red sauce can be clearly tasted without diminishing the deep flavor of the tomatoes. Calamari available but more fried for Japanese sensibilities. Affogato and Tiramisu are top shelf. Atmosphere is warm and inviting especially if you have a view of the oven opening and closing. With the music playing, and as you enjoy the meal, you will lapse to thinking you're at a pizzeria in the trendiest parts of New York City or Rome. Forks and knives available but pizza crusts are foldable but the top of the triangle may be a bit heavy due to the chef's generosity... so the quick nyc "fold and bite" is needed. Best sign of all of a great pizzeria are the numerous take-out orders from the locals heading out the door...
Read moreThe best pizza I have ever eaten, without exception. Honestly, I wasn't expecting a random restaurant on the streets of Kyoto to be this good. I've never been happier to be surprised. The food came out within ten minutes of ordering and we could see them being cooked. The staff was friendly and accommodating to people who didn't speak the native tongue.
My only complaint is that the red wine one of our party ordered had gone bad. Still not enough to ruin the night, and the cocktail they also ordered was apparently good.

Read moreThe greatest Neapolitan pizza I’ve had so far. I ordered the Bolognese pizza, the meat was fresh and delicious, the cheese was excellent, and all the ingredients were top-tier quality. I paired it with a glass of wine, and the combination was perfect. Prices are good, the service is outstanding, and the place is cozy and well located. The staff are super friendly and always ready to help you.
Naghino totally deserves its Michelin award. I hope to return to Kyoto soon, and when I do, I’ll definitely come back to Naghino for another amazing dinner.
