Food was real bad - taste and quality. I am not sure if the other reviews are really credible or may be I just got unlucky. We were a group of 6 people and ordered dosas, uttapam, chicken biryani. Sambhar had to be the worst I have ever eaten - I think they used a lot of tamarind than necessary. It was just too bad. The only average item was paper dosa itself perhaps. Even the accompanying chutneys were not fresh.
Along with that the interior decor was falling apart. The table tops were dirty and didn’t seem to have been cleaned up. The floor was sticky at places.
I think this place can easily be given a miss.

Read moreBhavani is a go to place for us during our Kyoto trip. When we visited today (June 13, 2024), each of our dishes were made to order and very tasty. We could even hear onions being chopped fresh for our meal.
We ordered Masala Dosa Set, Vegetarian Hot & Sour soup, Vegetable Biryani & Salt Lassi and each of the dishes were very tasty. Biryani had a little spice kick to it but we loved it. Dosa were pretty crispy and hot & sour soup also had a kick to it.
Last but not the least, the chef and server were both very accommodating and friendly.

It is also open for a long time after other restaurants close. My father is a vegan, and they made sure he got food that suited his needs. The chef even came out of the kitchen to ask us about certain ingredients, that he wasn’t sure about.
