Tomomi Gelato — Restaurant in Kyoto

This shop was unbelievably excellent. The owner and her coworker are both so nice. She is an award winning gelato maker and it totally tastes that way. The flavors are unique and fun though with some classics. I had the milk of acacia and my husband had the lemon with pepper leaf which were both AMAZING. I ended up getting another cup of the lemon with pepper leaf bc it was the perfect palate cleanser for the heavy meal we just had (not bc I didn’t love the acacia!). Overall wonderful and brilliant flavors that are a wonderful homage to Japan (she has a map of Japan with photos of her and all her suppliers). Do yourself a favor and go! And try some of the more unique flavors too because its fun to be adventurous and no one will...

Highly recommended gelato shop with lots of non dairy / vegan options. They make delicious varieties of gelato using real fruits.

We had the papaya, strawberry and soba cookies and cream. The papaya was creamy and sweet and strawberry tasted like fresh fruit.

They had at least 4-5 vegan ice cream options, which is really great for both my lactose intolerance and my son’s dairy allergy. A premium price point but well worth it in my opinion as we came 3 times during our 5...

The fruit-rhum gelato wasn't very special, I forgot the fruit, it was almost just sweet. I was very disappointed for that high price, and the amount is smaller when you take out, it is not logical... Also the worst part is they asked me a higher price that the one on the menu, they just told me the price on the menu is a mistake, what?? Maybe I will give them another chance and eat a more classic gelato next time and change my opinion, but sorry this time it was a bad...
