In this case, I was a little embarrassed because it was an add-on, but I learned that I couldn't cancel or change the reservation.I realized this after making a reservation. It's a bit awkward because you have to go to the site and pay by credit card, and the exchange rate may fluctuate, so it may not be the price you first saw, so it's inconvenient. I asked Trip.com if payment had not been made yet so I could not go, and they said I should not no-show because my card information was included and the hotel could make the payment at their discretion. If I change the date during my travel itinerary, the hotel price would be reduced by more than half, so I inquired, but Trip.com said no. I don't know if it's because they won't cancel or if the hotel won't do it.The hotel wasn't very good either. The windows didn't open and were opaque so I couldn't see outside. The sofa bed and table space were spacious for a Japanese hotel. The sofa bed was not clean so it was a bit uncomfortable. There is a rattan back cover on the sofa, which is perfect for hitting your head while getting up.Even if you ask for room cleaning, they won't do it. This is my first time seeing a hotel that doesn't allow date changes, cancellations, or room cleaning. What I liked was that the Chingdae was spacious for a double, the size was good, the bathroom had a bath chair, and there was a key to store your suitcase so you could lock it and leave. Umbrellas were also provided. This is usually...
Read moreEven though the hotel sits on a busy street, the hotel was very quiet. This hotel is a small, boutique hotel and service (when staff isn't around) is requested via Facetime from an iPhone at the front desk. Don't let that discourage you. The hotel is clean and well maintained. Staff, when there, is very friendly and are approachable when something is requested. Check-in isn't until 4 pm and there is a self-service luggage rack with locks. We were comfortable with leaving our belongings there for several hours. The hotel is a close walk to the busy Kyoto Kawaramachi area and Shijo Dori. The walk to Kyoto Station is about 20 minutes. Food isn't offered at this hotel but there are plenty of choices outside of the hotel. This hotel is great for all types of travelers who don't need a lot...

The front desk staff was all very friendly and helpful. Communicating in English was a little tough but got what I needed! A pin code is assigned for the front door entry during late/early hours and room door. Some of the floors have a microwave, there's a fridge in the room, dedicated wifi by room, self lock luggage with provided locks, self check out.
The hotel provided plentiful free bread and water bottles in the room, toiletries including shampoo, conditioner, and bodywash. There was no room service or towel changes during our stay but overall it was very clean and comfortable beds! The location is conveniently close to the busy parts of Kyoto such as Nishiki Market, Ponchtocho...
