Everest Café — Restaurant in Kyoto

This is hands down the worst restaurant experience I’ve had. I never gave some one only 1 Star! Congratulatiion! Honestly, if I wanted to be insulted and disappointed like this, I wouldn't need to spend over 4500 yen. The entire order felt like a bad joke. I clearly stated I’m staying in a hotel and need cutlery – none was provided. The food arrived cold, overly salty, the bread was dry, and the “portion” was laughable. One tiny piece of overcooked meat, and the rice portion? Smaller than the palm of my hand. A toddler would still be hungry after this. I couldn't eat any of it, and I’m still starving. I basically paid premium price for disappointment and...

Never judge a book by its cover. After seeing the menu and the pictures representing the food, we didn't expect much but the food that came out was very very tasty and looked so much better than the pictures on the menus.

We ordered the chicken kadai and the daal fry with hot spice level. The flavour was great, I wish I chose the highest spice level because the chart is based on Japanese tastes which makes sense. The naans are the best thing about this place, you have to try it if you go here.

I thought that you would not get food like India in Japan but I was wrong.
