I have been cursed by being a very picky croissant consumer. So when I encounter one that resembles a mass market grocery store croissant that is bready almost rubbery textured, lacking any hint of butter flavor, lacking a shatteringly layered crust and just plain lacks effort, I just feel denied pleasure. Try their scones, they don't suck as much. The broken brownie bits in a bag are good. Or better yet find another bakery. Kyoto is blessed with several competent bakeries. This was our favourite bakery in all of Japan! After our first visit trying their sausage bun, we have failed to find any other like this one!

It was god send biting into the bread - perfectly soft whilst the sausage was kind of crisp/ charred in the outside but full of juice and tenderness as you bite into the middle.
