'SUBARASHI'
On a beautiful Friday night during a cold winter, the bois and I where craving some western food in Japan, as we are westerners who adore Vegemite with flora low cholesterol buttered bread, so, we decided to head down to KikuSUI.
Whilst the Bois were craving some steak, I decided to get some omurice. Once the steaming omurice had been delivered to the table by the assiduous staff members, I was astounded. Perhaps Even In Awe. This simple yet complex dish had far exceeded my understanding of the concept of life, as though I was within my mother's womb ready to burst into life once again. This dish brought back something that I had lost so many years ago. Every bite of the warm richness of the fried rice wrapped enclosed by an unborn chicken brought memories of when my Father didn't beat me with a spoon. These small fragments of memory that were released from my mind felt as though it was cured, as if the chicken egg had swathed those memories with tenderness and love.
KikuSUI takes ingredients so basic, like monomers, and masters their craft so beautifully, to create polymers. The sensations dance smoothly en route as a collective to tie the entire experience together.
In a nutshell (or should I say, in an eggshell), the staff are very serious with their work and they take pride with every step they perform. The young workers (assuming they are college students) took care of us throughout the whole session, refilled drinks (sometimes) and taking care of our needs. One bad thing I would say about them would be, their work ethic is far too good, we westerners tend to relish over any opportunity for slacking off. Hopefully your managers recognise the amount of working you guys are pushing forth day in and day out!

You can't go wrong when you see a place full of locals. We sat down and were offered the menu. We picked the beef patty with salad, a steak, a beer and a melon soda with ice cream. This has to be the fastest service I've ever received. Within seconds, 3 waitresses arrived with the chopsticks and cutlery, water, a salad as starter, the soda and the beer. It was so quick that we were baffled by it. 5 minutes later the waitress arrived with the food and it was pretty good, to my surprise the burger patty that my wife got was much more flavorful than my steak, I highly recommend it. At the end the food was really good and had good portions, I asked for a coffee and was served within minutes. I respect from heart that it is hard to keep tradition to adjust our modern habits and needs.probably people who love retrospect target were attracted, polite services, many small dishes,old table and chairs. If they cannot manage quality and price battles they should concentrate quality , not quantities to have many dishes. Fir example Fillet steak set ( approximately 20€) has small Russian salad , potage soup( not warm),Fillets and potatoes fry (was cold) bread or rice, small sorbet (no taste) and coffee or tea.I it’s too much for middle range quality.
