10/10 would eat here again. It is just to the side of the Chisakuin temple and very convenient if you are also planning to visit the Sanjusanjendo temple or the National Museum. The tables are spacious and the air conditioning is a true blessing in summer.
The staff were delightfully kind and paid great attention to the customers. Every single time our water was less than half full they would come and refill it without prompt. We were served tea before we even ordered anything and they gave us a thermo so we could refill it as we wished. They didn't charge us a single yen for neither the tea or the water.
The dishes were delicious and filling. I ordered some udon with tempura + a small serving of rice for 1650¥ and a matcha ice cream for 600¥ and left with a full stomach and a happy soul.
(Even if you change the size of the rice from a small serving to a normal one, the price remains the same)
Everything was great and they even gave my friend and I little containers of spice to use as we saw fit. The udon was acompanied by a two smaller dishes and I may have no clue what they were, but they tasted just as good as the rest of the food. And the tray the food came in added an 'aesthetic' touch, for those who enjoy that kind of detail.
