We had a great time here. We had 2 drinks each and some food. The food was good with some good choices. More dive bar food for sure. We had chicken and chips with wings. The wing sauce was great. The drink options are great anything you would want they will have. The team here is awesome and fluent in English making communication super easy. It is at the train station which made it the perfect stop for us. They have money from around the world on the wall and we made sure we added our own as well. They have free WiFi which was a plus for me. The card machine wasn’t working so we had to pay in yen which was fine since we had some on us and we have good access to the train station which has atms if needed. The place is small for sure. Mostly tourists like us and a few locals were here as well. I would not say adult groups larger than 4 or family larger than 6 I would recommend going somewhere else. Parent discretion but it doesn’t seem too kid friendly for children under 15 in my opinion. I loved it and if we can we will be back later this week for lunch. The place is small so keep that in mind. I...
Read moreAwesome! My wife and I stayed at the Miyako Hotel, and we decided to go out in the strip to walk around, and we stumbled on this cozy pub. This place triggered our senses. The music got our attention at first as we approached. Then the scenery lured us in. Very cool vibe; very old skool with a modern feel. So much so that I returned the following night with more of my colleagues. Other bar tenders (along with Koko) were there, and they, too, were just as cool. If you are in Kyoto and want to chill for the evening and enjoy a nice drink with cool vibes. I highly recommend this place. Great drinks, decent price, good vibes, and an awesome staff....
Read moreThe pub itself is nice and I’ve been before Covid, during Covid and now after.
The place is expensive(¥1100 for a Guinness)
They have now completely done away with “Happy Hour” and when I asked why they simply replied they don’t need to have it.
This is because now they have their tourism back and only care about ripping foreigners off and recovering their losses after the pandemic.
Last point is the bar still allows SMOKING which in 2024 is absolutely amazing so if the bar gets busy expect to stink of cigarette smoke.
I personally wouldn’t visit again and urge anyone who wants to really enjoy Kyoto to give this place a swerve and enjoy Japanese drinking establishments instead. If you’ve come all this way don’t waste...
