Magobei — Restaurant in Kyoto

Food 7/10 At the Kyoto train station, we got some katsu. The meat was actually super tender. Overall food quality in Japanese is simply superior. Relatively reasonably priced too. A pretty fast meal, but it came with moist rice and some vegetables too, which we direly needed.

Atmosphere 8/10 Fast casual train station restaurant vibes. Nothing out of the ordinary. Appreciate the sample dishes outside that caught our eye.

I was late. Most restaurants at Kyoto Station are closed by 8pm or a bit later.

This restaurant is still open -- it closes at 9 am. I sat at the counter and watched them prepare food.

Not sure what to expect, i tried fried noodle with shrimp/chicken/vegetable. It is very good though the serving is a but small.

Staff were accommodating and quick in service. There’s also an English menu. You can order from fried octopus, grilled fish, skewers, salads, sashimi, and many more. The food is decent price and tastes better than most izakayas around here.
