I found the staff to be very nice, and the hotel's location is truly amazing. Unfortunately, the room itself was a major disappointment. There was a powerful, persistent mold smell that made it very unpleasant. The only minor relief from the odor was in the bathroom, thanks to its extractor fan. Despite using the provided air freshener, the smell would dissipate for only about 30 seconds. With the window locked, we couldn't ventilate the room, and the only way we could manage to sleep was by wearing masks. I stayed here for two nights, so for the second day I tried arriving as late as possible just to minimize time in the room. This experience taught me the importance of checking Google reviews and stigmatized props maps in addition to booking site ratings. While this hotel might seem like a good deal compared to other options in the area, I believe it comes at the cost of your well-being.
ps: The smell of mold was so intense that all my clothes (even those inside my suitcase) became impregnated with it. At our next hotel, we had to wash everything to finally get rid of the...
ย ย ย Read moreThe rooms here are tiny, but my stay was perfect. I had just enough space to squeeze in my luggage. Note, that there are no closets or wardrobes, nor is there really enough space to open up a suitcase, but there are a couple of hooks and hangers on the wall. The staff was really friendly, but limited in English-speaking skills; however, I didn't find that I needed to interact with them much.||||Breakfast is not really notable, there was bread and a toaster and ramen in the dining area, along with coffee and juice dispensers. Good enough for a quick start, but I fared better grabbing a little bite at the 7-11 down the road.||||Close to Kyoto station, but make sure you exit from the Hachijo exit (if you go out the other side, it's a much longer walk. Perfect place to stay if you plan to be out and about and not hanging in your room. ||||Also of note for tourists: no tv channels in English, and they don't hold luggage (and have an early check out).||||For the price and nice service, I would...
ย ย ย Read moreThe only upside here is the location, it is relatively close to the station. The room is cramped and you cannot open the window. stayed for three nights and was choking inside from the steam most of the time, the bath ventilation and air condition turns off when you take out the room card, which means that you will come back to a unbearably hot and steamy room after a hot day in Kyoto, which almost seems choking. There is a fridge but no kettle, you can however get free hot drinks in the public eating area, which by the way looks like the storage room in the back of a manufacturing company. Unsure about what the breakfast was, but saw that they had toast bread and instant noodles, with jam and margarine as the only condiments for the toast bread. and some water fruit drinks? If that is the breakfast, I highly suggest that no one should choose it. Will definefely not come back again. No room cleaning either, they provide new...
