I recently stumbled upon a cozy coffee shop while waiting for a transfer, and it turned out to be a great spot to take a break and grab a drink. The coffee shop had a nice ambiance and provided a comfortable place to sit down while waiting for my next destination.
The highlight of my visit was definitely the matcha latte. It was amazing! The matcha flavor was perfectly balanced and the latte was smooth and creamy. I highly recommend giving it a try if you're a fan of matcha.
One of the great things about this coffee shop is that they offer free wifi, which was perfect for me as I needed to get some work done during my visit. The connection was strong and reliable, making it easy to get things done.
While the coffee shop was not big, it was well-designed and had a comfortable atmosphere. I was lucky enough to grab the last available seat, but I noticed that others had to wait outside until seats became available. This just goes to show how popular and well-liked this spot is.
Overall, I had a great experience at this coffee shop. The matcha latte was definitely the standout item for me, but the cozy atmosphere and reliable wifi also made for a pleasant visit. If you're ever in the area and need a place to relax or get some work done, this coffee shop is definitely worth...
Read moreI only had takeaway of the chiffon coffee swiss roll cake. It's so damn good that I wanted to bring back to my country but unfortunately they said it's not possible. So try that while you're still there. It's fluffy, and smooth... the sponge isn't dense at all. But the "crown jewel" is the coffee cream which they claimed to cook their coffee beans in milk for 2 days. Not sure how true that it but it's really good. I won't say the cream in the roll is overpowering with coffee beans but you can taste it. Honestly I have never had such a coffee swiss roll in my life...
Based on my 10 days in Kyoto, the coffee swiss roll will be gone by every afternoon i passed by. No joke. So if you go on a day trip outside Kyoto, suggest you pay in advance in the morning when passing through Kyoto station and pick up when you're back in the evening. That was the only way I could get hold of the whole cake during my time there. Yes it's probably fattening. But hell, i'm not there to count my calories...
Read moreI visited Ogawa Coffee at Kyoto Station on January 15th around 9:00 AM and had a rather disappointing experience. The staff, particularly the lady at the cashier, seemed completely disengaged, and we had to essentially drag her attention to place our order. We were also informed that they don't accept credit cards, only cash, which was inconvenient.
After placing a simple order of two cappuccinos, a croissant, and a pastry from the counter display, we had to wait while several other customers—who arrived after us—were served first. The service felt disorganized and unwelcoming, and the overall vibe was off.
For tourists, I would recommend choosing a different spot for breakfast in Kyoto Station. There are definitely better options with friendlier service and a more...
