My boyfriend and I got there and there was at least 5 waiters/waitresses standing right in front of us and NONE of them came to us, we stood there for least 7 minutes to get their attention(they looked at us and said nothing and kept chatting with each other). And there was a lot of tables available at the time we arrived.
We are not picky with food, but we went there expecting to have a decent pasta but instead we had a spaghetti that looked like a tomato soup(watery AND bland), a Carbonara that tasted the same as the convenience store, an "okish" garlic bread, an "Italian" karaage that wasn't good and one beer.
Maybe the waiters and waitresses were new to the job, but still, they are paid to serve customers and they were just chatting and not giving attention to us. And the "chef" was just doing his thing and was laughing at the guys there(I think they were friends or something). I asked to one of the waiters if my karaage was the right one cause it didn't looked right, and he looked at the chef, the chef laughed and then the waiter said it was the right one. I still think it was wrong but whatever.
AND WE PAID 5000YEN FOR ALL THAT BLAND FOOD.
I hope they change the staff or something because it was the first time I was treated badly like that in a restaurant here in Japan(I was born and raised here!).
I don't recommend this restaurant to anyone, just go there if they...
Read moreFirst of all, we had a shocking experience at the place and would not recommend anyone to come. My partner and I finally got to eat food that was not Japanese before a long day of traveling. I asked the waitress at the entrance about the pasta I wanted and she showed me the menu. When we sat down, I only ordered one pasta and my partner told her that he was not hungry and was going to withdraw money and come back after the pasta arrived. My partner came back and they told him that if he did not order, he could not sit with me and that he would wait outside and that its law requires him to order food if he wanted to stay, even though we told her before and he explicitly said that he was not hungry (we told her at the reception) . They forced us to order another dish, another dish. In addition, the food was not tasty and...
Read moreReally conveniently located, it is within the Kyoto Station Building. The place has a good atmosphere with friendly staff who can speak/understand english. They have all sorts of pasta dishes including Japanese style versions. You pay one price for different sizes (small - extra large) of the same dish which is great. As for the food in general, we ordered Japanese versions of the Carbonara and the Bacon & Mushroom pasts dishes. I found the sauce for the Carbonara a little on the runny side, the dish did have the Carbonara taste but the Japanese flavours were a strange addition. The Bacon & mushroom tasted a bit average, some decent flavour to the sauce but again...
