Extremely fun teppan yaki restaurant in the basement of nice hotel an easy walk from Kyoto station. It is not for the price conscious and there is not much of a show, unless you like abalone, which i do. Fascinating to watch abalone inflate with heat. We had good friendly neighbors- almost all hotel guests - and English speakers from various lands. We paid the premium for higher quality beef which delicious and perfectly prepared and sake was very high quality as well. The salad condiments and desert provided with the dinner set were all among the most tasty i have ever eaten! I wish there were more seafood on the menu and that staff were a little more charismatic but things improved when they saw we were responsive and appreciative!
