As Canadians visiting Japan, my mother and I were excited to try Tony Roma’s for the first time here. We've been to Tony Roma’s in other countries and had high expectations.
The food was delicious, living up to the standards we’ve come to expect from Tony Roma’s. However, our experience with the service left us feeling somewhat disappointed.
We ordered refillable drinks and tried to get a waiter’s attention for a refill. We raised our hands for more than five minutes, one of the waiters saw us but he chose to ignore us twice. Another waiter acknowledged us with a nod, indicating she would come over, but she never did. Eventually, a very kind and attentive waitress noticed us all the way from the bar and came to help.
We would like to extend our gratitude to this waitress, who not only helped with our drinks but also warmly greeted us and showed us to our table at the beginning. Her service was both thoughtful and attentive, and she maintained a lovely smile throughout.
While the food was excellent, the overall service did not meet our expectations, which slightly diminished our experience. Nevertheless, we deeply appreciate the efforts of the outstanding waitress who...
Read moreI love Tony Roma’s and I always forget the US brand name restaurants don’t always properly translate in a foreign country who may have never had Ribs. The restaurant has a sign saying “we have fluent English speakers” WRONG ! I and other western tourists had to communicate through Google Translate. I ordered ribs through this QR code because the waitress did not want to speak to you. No confirmation your order goes through, so had to deal with that. Then the ribs come out almost plain, not the mouthwatering ribs with lots of sauce slathered on. I asked for extra Carolina BBQ sauce, that was a foreign request. Then the waitress wanted me to order the extra sauce through QR code but it did not offer it but she sees it in the written menu, an extra Y100. What! It is ribs. I got still needed it, by the time I got it the ribs were cold and the sauce was also cold from refrigerator. This meal is not what you would think from Tony Romas ! Just...
Read moreI recommend you spend your money elsewhere. Some of the food that we got was good, don't get me wrong. But the service made a ton of mistakes and was incredibly slow despite the fact that the restaurant was not packed at all. Mistakes were made on the meals that both cost us money and wasted our time. On top of that, it's not worth the price that they charge you. 900 yen for 6 chicken wings is horrible. It is the worst value restaurant I've been to in Kyoto and completely not worth it. I cannot see myself returning and I recommend that you don't either. Hard Rock Cafe is touristy as hell, but the portion sizes are better than Tony Roma's, the service is better, and the food is both cheaper and better. Hell, go to Shake Shack in kawaramachi if you want...
