The food is phenomenal, and the husband and wife duo that run the small and cozy restaurant are just as wonderful.
You can throw a dart randomly at the menu and anything it hits will impress you. We ate there for two consecutive nights just to go through the majority of their menu, and we would’ve gone back again and again if it were not our last night in Matsushima.
We had wonderful conversations with the owners, although with broken Japanese (a fault on our part that we’re ashamed to not have done better at). They were incredibly accommodating and we learnt a lot about their dedication to making good food and also local destinations.
