Rikyu — Restaurant in Matsushima

Food is good. But it was “destroyed” by the worst service. I have been living in Japan almost 10 years. It was the worst one. I can see there is empty table for family use. But the staff force us to sit on the counter sit. And give the family table to 6 person. But we 4 people(including 2kids) came first!!!!!!! Let say it again: we came first!

Ask us need kid chair or not? We said “yes” clearly. Bu we can not get it until we leave

This place has lots of beef tongue. I got the beef sushi and beef tongue tempura. Both were decent. The matcha tiramisu is good too. Service is quite slow, even when the restaurant isn’t crowded. We had seats in front of the grill, and he was just finishing grilling his current set of meat when we ordered. It took 20 minutes for us to get our food, during which the guy at the grill spent most of his time...

Stumbled upon this place as many places weren't open for dinner. We really enjoyed our poke bowl and bluefin tuna bowl. The bowl sets were very good with generous portions. Soup, a very good grilled gyutan, salad, and dessert.

My kid had a gyutan kare from the kids menu, which came with fries, a little side salad of tamago and Vienna sausage. He enjoyed it. Service was quick, respectful, and kind....
