DONT COME HERE!!
Me and my friend came to visit Japan knowing that some places don’t like welcoming tourists. But on our case, we were approached outside the restaurant and invited in. When we arrived we noticed that only locals were there and of course that was ok. As soon as we sat a server came with a paper for us to order. We noticed that it was already something written in there, which we didn’t write. Once the order was decided, the server came to table and forced us to ask for drinks even though we didn’t want anything other than water. He also gave us starters. We thought that it was on the house, but later on we discovered that it was not. As I tried to be respectful, I tried at least to say “Thank you” and “Hello” in japanese, but as I did that I was completely mocked by my accent literally at my face. The food was terrible, the noodles were burnt and they were bland. When we asked for the bill, the waiter thought it would be funny to give us the QR Code for his instagram. Then, as we proceed to ignore, and asked for the ATM machine, using the google translator because, again they are not obligated to know how to speak my language nor english. Just trying to blend in and be respectful. We kept being mocked and they were pretending to not understand. It was a female server that came, told them to calm down with the jokes and told us to pay downstairs. As we left, the three servants kept laughing and telling us “bye bye bye”. Like it wasn’t enough, another server of the restaurante fell down the stairs and we of course showed concern regarding him. They found a way to laugh at that, like their colleague hadn’t fall down the stairs. Anyway, all of this to say that it’s shameful the way that we were treated at this establishment. We were nothing but polite and respectful, we did not deserve this type of treatment. Better be sure that we will talk down on this restaurant to everyone we know who intends to...
Read moreAmerican Tourist. Came in around 9pm and ordered some food and drinks for 4 men. We were on the 2nd floor and had to take off our shoes to sit in traditional floor tables. We received our first round of food and drinks with no problem. Everything tasted great and no issues. We then ordered more food. We waited for a little bit and then received half of the food we ordered. We waited 30 more minutes for the rest of our food, but the server never checked back. We decided to go up and ask about when the remaining food would arrive. She said she gave us everything and that there was no more. We tried to say that it didn't come, but after running in circles a couple times, we decided to let it go. They still billed us for the 1000 yen amount of food that we didn't get.
So moral of story, this place tasted great but keep a close tab on the food because they will not keep...
Read moreSuch friendly staff, ice cold beer, juicy food, cozy vibes. Would recommend to anyone who’s passionate in Japanese culture and contributing to its space-making. Wonderful interactions of belonging, sense of place, conversations, emotions and affections. This is the perfect space where food brings us together from different languages and origins, transcending boundaries and borders, creating and re-creating a relational space that leaves a mark in its history, while composing its unique place under the dynamic...
