This petit place in the streets of Dontobori, serves an amazing big portion of onigiri. Here is the below list of onigiries we ordered
Egg yolk with minced chicken - the rice puffed in the onigiri was really nice. Wasn’t too hot nor cold. The egg yolk they put it on was the saturated yolk. It does kinda overpowered the minced chicken but I still think this combination was a good call.
Pickled plum - ordered this because I was feeling adventurous & boy this did not disappoint me. If you try the pickled plum it self it was really sour & tangy. But however once it’s mixed with the rice & the seaweed, it was life changing. The rice really did textured out the sourness. I’d highly recommend this for those who are vegan/ vegetarian.
Octopus mixed rice - we were served with a thick rentable without being over textured, filled with mentaiko in between the rice. I think it there’s nothing to should about but my friend liked it. So whoever likes mentaiko could give this a try
Overall I think the portion was kinda huge for a typical onigiri. Tho the place of seats is limited. So you could either eat outside...

The onigiris here are big, beautifully crafted, and made with the freshest ingredients. The variety of fillings and toppings is fantastic — there’s truly something for every taste, whether you like classic flavors or something more adventurous.
The staff are wonderfully attentive and kind, making the whole dining experience smooth and welcoming. The space itself is small, cozy, and spotless — just as you’d expect from a Japanese spot that specializes in food prepared with such care. Like most great specialty restaurants, you’ll need to wait a bit to be seated, but that’s only because what they serve takes time, patience, and skill to make. And trust me, it’s absolutely worth it.
Honestly, this was the best onigiri I’ve ever tried (we had the spicy cod roe, tuna mayo and salmon with salmon roe 🍙💗👌) — second place goes to Onigiri Gorichan, also in Osaka. Both are unforgettable experiences. Thank you sincerely to the team at Ginshari Omusubi En for making our Osaka trip even more enjoyable. I’ll be dreaming about these onigiris until I can come...
Read moreThe first thing you'll see walking by is the giant onigiri (rice ball) above the store, the second thing you'll see is the display case lined with figures of their onigiris (and they're true to size!)
Despite its eye catching storefront, this place is more like a hole in the wall, with only 9 seats. While they allow takeaways, I strongly advise you to eat in store as it can get super messy! The store offers complimentary water as well.
The onigiris themselves are a bit pricey, but they're worth every penny! I had the salmon+roe (900¥) and beef+egg (800¥) ones, and the fillings make up about 50% of the hefty size.
Onigiri is less well-known compared to other Japanese foods like ramen and udon, so if you're in the area do be sure to give it a try! One onigiri will make a good snack, while 2 can make a whole meal.
The staff speak fluent English, and they accept both...
