hannoc — Restaurant in Osaka

This place was recommended to me by a friend, and it did not disappoint. We arrived here a few minutes before closing, so they didn't have many options, so we bought two cakes to go (no idea what they were called) but both were super delicious (one had some coffee flavour and a bit of a crunch and the other one had large halfed grapes on top) and I definitely want to go back and try more. I understand the need for minimum spend but at 2 cakes per person I’m sure we have more than met the minimum spend of 1 cake and 1 drink.

Yet the staff forced a drink purchase. The coffee is so overly roasted it tasted like ask mixed with water.

The music choice is terrible and acoustics was bad. Everyone was talking over the music so it was loud and hard to have a conversation.

The network coverage is bad, yet they do not share their wifi. This is an abomination of Japanese hospitality. Shame for having such anti-customer policies.

Their seasonal menu featured pistacho as their key ingredients so I tried their Basque Pistache which is a Basque cheesecake with pistachio. It was incredible, smooth and not too sweet.

And because ordering one wasn't enough, I enjoyed their Opera cake which is a traditional pairing of coffee and chocolate layers. This was also very good.

By the time I came it was in the late afternoon and that's too late for me to have a coffee, so I opted for a sparkling grape cocktail to go...
