Consumer beware!!!

My partner and I had 1 red eye beer each (more like a tomato juice) that set us back 2200 yen!!!.

Entering the premises I asked if they would take card - "indeed yes". At no stage did staff mention / point out that there was a 400 yen cover charge per person.

Upon asking for the cheque and discovering the 800 yen impost I challenged the bill. The cashier simply swung the display on the cash register and pointed to a sticker that stated in English the cover charge 400 yen per person. Firstly the cover charge was not pointed out to us, secondly it was inconspicuously displayed and thirdly what if you spoke neither Japanese or English?

Good "highballs", which if you're not familiar with are just whiskey & soda or other mixers, served in a typical highball glass. Still a bit of a mystery why we can't just call it whiskey soda , whiskey ginger ale, whiskey coke, etc. But anyway, nice place, nice drinks, and actually a really decent selection of food! Be warned there's a 400 yen table charge per person, so off your only stopping in for a quick drink it works out to be expensive. I think its my 5-6th visit. Still recommend Umeda highball for a start to appreciate the curation of this craft drink. Neapolitan Spaghetti is a good accompaniment. Pork sandwich is also recommended.

Maker’s Mark Highball is good. Overpowering rounded body and fragrant is well balanced with Japanese soda water.
