During my trip to Osaka, visiting Pablo in Shinsaibashi was at the top of my dessert bucket list—and it did not disappoint. I had heard a lot about their famous cheese tarts, and after trying one fresh from the oven, I completely understood the hype.
The store itself is bright and inviting, located in the bustling Shinsaibashi shopping district, so it’s easy to stop by while exploring. The aroma of warm pastry and creamy cheese is impossible to resist. I ordered their original cheese tart, and the staff was friendly and efficient even with a steady flow of customers.
The tart was slightly warm, with a soft, almost pudding-like center and a perfectly golden, buttery crust. The texture was unique—somewhere between a custard and a cheesecake—and it practically melted in my mouth. The flavor was subtly sweet with a rich, creamy cheese taste that wasn’t too overpowering. It struck a perfect balance, and even someone who isn’t a huge fan of cheese would probably enjoy it.
What also impressed me was the quality of the ingredients. Everything tasted fresh, and it didn’t feel too heavy despite being indulgent. I also tried the mini tarts and one of their seasonal flavors—matcha—both of which were excellent.
Prices are reasonable considering the quality, and they offer takeaway boxes if you want to bring some back as souvenirs (they even include ice packs). If you’re a dessert lover or just looking to try a Japanese twist on cheesecake, Pablo Shinsaibashi is a must-visit.
Overall, it’s a 10/10 from me. Delicious, unique, and memorable—this cheese tart is something I’ll be dreaming about long...
Read moreDespite the long line, the wait was definitely worth it. The crème brûlée cheesecake was a standout, with its rich and creamy texture, perfectly caramelized top, and indulgent flavor. It was easily the highlight of the visit. I also tried the original and strawberry flavors, both of which were delightful, smooth, and satisfying. The original had a classic richness, while the strawberry added a fresh, fruity twist that complemented the creamy base. However, the matcha flavor was less creamy compared to the others, and while it had a distinct flavor, it didn’t quite reach the same level of indulgence as the other varieties. That being said, the overall experience was fantastic, and I would happily wait in line again for another taste of the crème brûlée. Each flavor offered something unique, but if you're visiting Pablo’s, I’d highly recommend trying the crème brûlée or the original. The balance of sweetness and texture in those flavors is truly exceptional. While the matcha might appeal to those who enjoy a less creamy texture and a bold flavor, it didn’t quite meet the high bar set by the other options. Nonetheless, Pablo’s is a must-visit spot in Osaka for cheesecake lovers, and I left feeling completely satisfied with...
Read moreSummary: Fantastic cheese, melty smooth cheese, and nicely balance flavours.
Taste: Alot to choose, but i would particularly recommend Pablo Cheese tart and melty Soufflé cheese cake. The cheese tart has fantastic melty smooth cheese within, and the Soufflé does have the well balanced flavour, not too cheesy and not too sweet that goes well with Japanese tea (does not really melt in your mouth).
But the flavoured Mini tarts (strawberry or chocolate) does not impress me. It is too sweet. If you have a few family members or friends and sharing, do get the big original.
Service: They are good and service is great. But, It is a rush to order, it is a rush to choose, it is a rush to confirm and pay. I guess due to the huge long queue, but i do hope the service paces a bit, or it is not easy for some to choose and buy. (They do have menu and pictures and pricing stated during Queueing). But i do prefer to see and order actual food.
Value: The price is on the high side. With the great taste, it is worth a try.
So, is it a can try, must try or can miss?: It will be must try. (The big tart or...
