Put your name on the list outside, there will be a short wait if you come around a popular eating time.
The entrance to this ramen spot is impressive. A large paper lantern served as a beacon to guide you into this 24-hour ramen spot.
As you wait, they have free iced tea for you to drink. Delicious with a hint of barley.
The waitress came out to take our orders before we were seated. Awesome because when we sat down inside (only a 5 minute wait) we were given our appetizers right away.
Our food came out in less than 5 minutes and we were thrilled by by the portions we received.
Appetizers came with bean sprouts, karage (fried chicken) and dumplings that were perfectly fried with a delicious crispy bottom.
They have red baskets to put your purses in.
And picked vegetables to add to your meal. Matt got the spicy ramen. You can choose how fat you want your pork to be! And you can choose either thin noodles or thick and wavy noodles. He said they were super good, wonderfully al dente noodles.
I got the chyashu bowl that came with an egg, pork, dried seaweed strips, Japanese mayonnaise, and green onions over rice. One bite and I was amazed at the deep roasted flavor. Medium was a perfect size for me. Check out photo to see how big it is compared to my hand.
Wonderful modern decor inside. Very friendly and energized staff. Definitely come here if you're in the Osaka...
Read moreTasty tonkotsu ramen. You order on the ticket machine outside and give it to the worker inside. The serving size is decent with multiple slices of chashu and nori, half-boiled marinated egg, corn, wood-ear mushrooms, bean sprouts, and seasoning. Ramen noodles are extremely thin, hakata-style, and satisfying to slurp up. They also sell other side dishes such as fried rice and gyōza, but I didn't try those. Service is good and price is reasonable in my opinion. They provide house-made salted vegetables with some extra seasoning such as pepper, and sesame seeds that you can grind and sprinkle yourself. My only gripe is that because they have outdoor seating, servers (and customers) go in and out, and if it's a cold day, you will feel occasional drafts of wind enter the restaurant, especially if you're seated at the counter, which we were. It did distract me from fully immersing in my bowl of ramen, but I can presume that in other seasons or temperatures, it wouldn't be such a bother.
Overall, my main takeaways are that it's a yummy bowl of noodles, moderate amount of toppings, kind service, and reasonable pricing. A major plus is that this place is open 24 hours, so you can definitely get your ramen fix if you're out and about during the late nights or...
Read moreTheir food? Amazingly delicious, but the place? Pretty dirty. As there’s a saying of, you know how clean the restaurant is by their cleanliness of the bathroom and quite frankly although their food is delicious their bathroom smells like vomit, poop and old urine for decades again, dried and wet mixed, new and old mixed together.
Going to the bathroom to wash my hand got my gag reflex, which in terms although I did finish the whole meal, the back of my mind and back of my nose was still in the bathroom.
Came here from a Reddit post recommending the spice level and the ramen, but there are other places that might make me feel more comfortable and less sticky of a situation.
This place also is cash only, which thankfully we had cash but wish I had read somewhere in advance before coming.
Would recommend people to come here if they don’t care about the looks and feels of the spot, otherwise there may be other places. Food is good, just wish they had better hygiene when it comes to cleaning the place.
It is open 24/7 so I mean that’s also a perk, but maybe bc of that it’s not that clean?
Just anything but use the...
