My wife and I had heen visiting Japan for the week, and we arrived in Osaka today (FEB.06.2025). We wanted to get some food, and immediately came across this Ramen shop as we were strolling by. As tourists, it can be hard to get around Japan, but our server was very kind and spoke some English. She told us how to order through their ticketing machine. My wife and I ordered the same dish (see in picture) with some gyoza and two beers.
The ramen here was out of this world! Genuinely, I was blown away. I’ve had ramen earlier this week — and of course we have Token Ramen in America — but nothing beats the broth of this Ramen. I actually finished my entire bowl because it was just that good. I will be returning to Osaka just to have this again in the future, hopefully within a reasonable time frame. The gyoza was also amazing — lightly burnt on the button to give it that “grilled” taste.
My only complaint, relatively nitpicky, is that I am 6’1” and the space was relatively small. Although I was still comfortable, it never hurts to have just a bit more leg room.
If any other American plans to visit Osaka, you’ll have to try this place. It was an experience created off a simple whim for food, and we have no...
Read moreImagine enjoying a bowl of ramen, with beef slices covering the circumference of the bowl. That’s a generous portion of beef, and if that is what you seek, do come visit Nishi Umeda Ramen Lamp for a bowl of scrumptious ramen!
As aforementioned, the restaurant is very generous with their portion of delicious beef slices, which pairs really well with the chewy, soft ramen noodles. The food prices are also very affordable here.
Ordering at the restaurant was inconvenient, as the machine is rather old, as it does not accept IC cards like suica, nor does it accept credit cards; it only accepts a selected type of coins and 1000¥ cash notes. If you don’t carry cash, you cannot dine here. Fortunately, the friendly staff can assist you in exchange big change for smaller change, so all hope is not lost. If you are a repeated customer, they will stamp your loyalty card, and once you collect enough stamps, you can redeem it.
Although the restaurant is small, it does feel rather comfortable to dine in, especially with a small group of four. The ambience is warm and welcoming.
All in all, will definitely return to this restaurant in the future to redeem my stamp card, and enjoy the delicious bowl...
Read moreAbsolutely fantastic ramen spot! I stumbled upon this place while exploring the area, and I’m so glad I did. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with that perfect mix of local charm and comforting aromas that instantly make you hungry.
The ramen itself is incredible — rich, flavorful broth that’s been simmered to perfection, with noodles that are just the right amount of chewy. I ordered the tonkotsu ramen and it was one of the best I’ve had during my entire trip in Japan. The chashu pork practically melts in your mouth, and the seasoned egg was cooked perfectly with that gooey yolk center.
The staff are super friendly and welcoming, and the service was really quick even though the place was fairly busy. You can tell they really care about the food they’re serving — everything came out...
