PAUSE COFFEE — Restaurant in Osaka

Very disrespectful towards waiting customers. We arrived with only two set of people in front of us (a group of 2 and 3). I already noticed a guy in a table outside that could fit 3 people, done with his drink and food, just talking on the phone. The line moves very slowly, despite the place having a limited menu (French toasts and savory toasts). At the end, we end up waiting for over 45 minutes. During this time, more people line up behind us, yet the staff did not bother to kindly point to this one customer just sitting outside talking on the phone, to please free his table so more people can sit. For me this felt very disrespectful. Is the place really worth the very long wait? I don’t think so, specially with the staff eager to ignore the customers...

While the food was generally fine (with relatively not affordable price tag), the service attitude was very poor. When arriving the place, we saw table which can accommodate 4 of us, the cashier lady declined as she seems unhappy that 4 of us stay in 1 table so she asked us to seat 2-2 separately (and we comply w/ it) after we ordered, the other waiter suddenly allowed 4 of us sit together but still their attitude and gesture were really rude and not welcoming. The place itself was surrounded by hotels which a lots of tourists around, definitely their service requires much of improvement especially service towards foreigners. Pause is really worth searching out if you're in the area around Osaka Station / Fukushima Station.

It happened to be a stone's throw from the hotel we were staying in Osaka and what a happy coincidence !

They make probably the best coffee we've had in Japan since visiting Tokyo, Osaka, Hiroshima & Kyoto. Rich but not strong, perfectly frothed milk and gorgeously presented in very light locally made pottery mugs. The food looks amazing too.

Really friendly staff who take pride in their barista skillz and serve up with a genuine smile.
