Osaka-ryori Asai — Restaurant in Osaka

Tourists, beware — this place is highly misleading and seems intent on overcharging foreigners.

We ordered what was clearly advertised as a whole fish for ¥5,500, as shown in the menu photo. What we received, however, was only half a portion — the underside of the fish was missing its fillet. At no point were we told it would be a half serving, and for that price, it’s outright deceptive.

To make matters worse, they tack on a compulsory 10% service charge — something you rarely see in Japan — and then add another 10% consumer tax that isn’t mentioned anywhere on the menu. This double markup feels like a deliberate trick to squeeze more money from tourists.

There are plenty of honest restaurants in Japan — save yourself the disappointment (and the extra charges) and...

Back in Osaka and back in this marvelous place.

Dinner for two with I don’t remember how many courses, five shots of Hibiki 17yo and one Kirin beer for just 25,000 yen.

What a fantastic authentic Japanese culinary experience!!!

I can’t name any of the 16-18 courses of the special menu we tried but man, one was greater than the other.

Exceptional dishes all done in an open kitchen in front of your eyes by a professional group of white apron chefs.

Impeccable service. A bit pricey but worth every penny!!!

Great people like most Japanese, beautiful ambience and maybe one of my best food culture super tasty 😋 evening!

Japan is almost like my 2nd home, I always go to Asia because of my work , unfortunately these days I think I wont be going there for a while until everything is OK again. when I am thinking about great Japanese food , this place poped into my head . I went there awhile ago , and it leave a sweet taste in my mouth. good thing is hard to describe but this place is just excellent, try their omakase , its a real treat!! This place aint cheap but well worth it ,, do you know why good japanese food always expensive? because it always offer you the best ! nothing in Barcelona can compared , so if you have a chance to go to Osaka , dont forget...
