It started with eager enthusiasm to shop for a Birkin 40 at this store on 3rd July. Served by Fukutomi who was friendly and helpful despite language constraint. Requested to see another bag design from a different store and the sales person was exceptional to have it transferred to the Shinsaibashi store so that I can see and decide between the Graphite (2017) and denim/leather (1999). Prices for both bags were informed before I left the store at their closing hour. Returned to the store on 5th July to view both bags and was told by Fukutomi that the price of the Graphite-color bag will be offered to me at a special price of ¥1.8mil from the previously quoted price of ¥1.98mil (on 3rd July). My partner and I had clarified and double check with her at least 3 times if the price (¥1.8mil) was correct and she firmly acknowledged that it was the final price. After a long deliberation with my partner, I decided to go for the Graphite-color Birkin 40 and have my passport and credit card ready for the payment. However, things took a twist and several other sales staff came forward to inform me that the price is ¥1.98mil and not ¥1.8mil. It was absolutely unbelievable and unacceptable as Fukutomi had repeatedly confirmed that ¥1.8mil was the final price, yet to be disregarded by the rest of the store sales personnel. They then insisted that I must pay ¥1.98mil despite acknowledging that they had made a mistake even though we had reconfirmed with Fukutomi no less than 3 times over and again before finally deciding to buy the bag. It ended with us leaving the store utterly disappointed and angry as the whole experience left me feeling cheated. Not only did the store refused to honour their mistakes, it was seen that this company is adopting dishonest and unethical business practice by cheating their customers against an agreed price but to overturn it at time of payment. There was completely no intention to resolve the problem caused by their staff and yet demanded the customer to pay for the mistake made by their staff.
