Stereo — Restaurant in Osaka

Terrible experience at this cafe:( We ordered one matcha drink and one coffee. The coffee was normal. The matcha drink was toooo sweet that I could not finish. What’s more, the service was terrible. The staff dropped the napkin to the floor under my eye but continued to put the spoon and straw on it 😨and he charged us 100yuen extra charge per drink (one from 500 to 600yuen and the other one from 800 to 900yuen) without any explanation. When we asked him why the prices are different from menu he claimed it was “tax”??? We argued that the tax in Japan is 10%, then he refund us 100yuen with no explanation or apology. Really regret that we went to this cafe and lost 1400yuen...

I was so excited to go this cafe. But the staff gave me a bad impression. I went inside and was looking around and see what I can order. He gave a bad look and told me to sit down. I told him that I was just looking for a menu. He told me that, if you had remained seated I would’ve give the menu. He said, wait, okay? with a sarcastic look. I was so appalled by the way he treated me. I walk out from that place. That was just my experience but I think the place is good. Maybe he just don’t like the way I look, cause I look like poor person. He was giving me a bad glare as I was waiting outside and taking pictures...

We absolutely loved our time in this very chill cafe with the super friendly owner. This was a nice escape from the crowded Dotonburi bustle. The retro decor brought us back to our childhood. The owner was so kind to our two kids and we wished we had additional time in Osaka to come back to Stereo. This morning before we left Osaka our son asked if we could go back to the cafe. That’s a rave review from a 7 year old given after all that we did yesterday, that Stereo was the first thing he wanted to do in Osaka when he woke up. Thank you for a memorable experience,...
