After the Covid , it seems like there has been a wave of "revenge travel," and with summer vacation in full swing, traditional hotspots like Japan and Korea are still drawing large crowds. This time, I returned to Japan because my artwork was being exhibited in Kyoto, and I chose to stay in Osaka. In the past, I usually visited the Kanto region, but this was my second time in Kansai, specifically Osaka. I stayed at a backpacker’s hostel near Nagahoribashi Station for almost a week. It wasn't until the second to last day that I noticed a tiny bar on the left side of my daily route from Exit 6 of Nagahoribashi Station back to the hostel. The bar’s exterior had always caught my eye, especially at night when its rotating sign on the ground was particularly bright and attention-grabbing.

Every day as I passed by this bar on my way back, I was tempted to go inside, but it was always full, and I was too tired from walking all day. Finally, one day, I noticed there were available seats, so I pushed the door open and went in. Although the bar was small, what struck me the most upon entering was a piece of artwork on the wall. Perhaps because I also paint, I am particularly sensitive to art. The owner is a Japanese, and the other bartender is a cute guy from Germany.😂

Despite the bar’s small space, it didn’t feel cramped at all, rather, it was cozy, like chatting with friends. The bar wasn't overly decorated but had a strong Japanese vibe. Initially, I felt a bit shy, but the warm greetings and conversations from the other customers and the owner soon made the atmosphere lively. The Japanese customers were incredibly friendly, and even though we sometimes faced language barriers, we still had a great time chatting. The owner’s English was excellent, so even if your Japanese isn’t great, you can still communicate in English.

I started with two whiskey colas and then asked the bartender to make me a special cocktail. I told him I liked something sweet with a hint of sour, and the drink he made was indeed delicious. It started off slightly sour, but as I drank, a sweet flavor emerged. The Japanese friends nearby also recommended this special cocktail, and it did not disappoint.

The next night, which was my last night in Osaka, I returned to the bar for another drink and some more conversation. That night, I discovered they had a special dish—curry rice. After trying it, I realized it was different from the usual Japanese curry; it was closer to the rich flavor of Indian curry, unique and very appetizing.

That night, I drank only the special cocktails the owner made for me. My favorites were the peach-flavored and plum wine-flavored cocktails—they were absolutely delicious and highly recommended. The bartenders put a lot of effort into their drinks, aiming to impress their customers... Overall, this bar is truly worth recommending, offering great value for money. The owner and the handsome bartender were both friendly and easy to talk to. If you ever find yourself near Shinsaibashi in Osaka, you definitely need to visit this bar, have a drink, chat, and make...

It's cosy, which is exactly why it's so comfortable and everyone is so friendly! We were in Osaka for 6 nights and we went every night 'cause it felt so homely and warm. The hospitality was unparalleled. Everyone was so friendly - the boss, the bartender, the patrons. Made so many new friends, and definitely made the trip that much better. I miss just popping in for a night cap already. THIS is why we will return to Osaka.

Most of their drinks are self created! My fave (which isnt on the menu) is the Elderflower Gin Garden. P.s. music is...

Genuinely one of the most entertaining experiences I had throughout my entire trip to anywhere in Japan. Was wandering around solo to find a bar and came across Untitled. The bartender knows a pretty good amount of English, and kind of acted as a bit of a translator between myself and the other people at the bar. Spent around 3 hours there just talking and felt as if I had known these people for much longer than I had. Unfortunately don’t think I’m coming back to Japan anytime soon, but hopefully when I do, I get to come back...

Untitled was such a great experience! Kazu made us feel right at home and we had such a great time in Osaka. We stayed at the Stay Osaka Shinsaibashi and it was right down the street from his bar. We ended up getting a few drinks everyday we were there. There are probably only 8 seats at the bar but it made it more intimate and we really felt like locals. He does have an English menu as well and we ended up ordering an old fashion, Moscow mule, whiskey sour and a TON of tequila pineapple shots. Highly recommended.

this place holds a lot of memories for me and a lot of other customers. The atmosphere, the drinks, the bartender, the vibes, one word, immaculate. The Best Bar in Osaka for sure, place for you to try different homemade cocktails that the owner makes himself. I'm from Malaysia but i will go back to Japan just to visit the bar one last time. I love this place for sure. Thank You Kazu for making my trip memorable. p.s ask for strawberry cello or a banana smoothie (you wont regret it)

If you ever find yourself near Shinsaibashi in Osaka, you definitely need to visit this bar, have a drink, chat, and make some friends!
