This is a gem in the outskirts of Ginza…a spanish themed tapas wine bar with a decent wine list and impressive food menu. I dined by myself so ordered a few of the smaller plates with a carafe of Syrah which was more than satisfyijng. Dishes included “Liver Paste with Rye Bread”, “40 Month Aged Iberico Ham”, “Shrimp and Kyoto Kujo Leek Ajillo” & and “Sauteed cabbage with anchovies”. Lo and behold my all time favourite dish was the cheapest out of my list of orders: “Sauteed cabbage with anchovies”….cabbage being normally a rather boring veg with a subtle taste was lifted significantly by being sauteed in crumbed salty anchovies which basically lifted it’s natural sweetness. Accentuating the plant even more was the slight heat from the single chilli which also infused the oil this splendid combo was cooked in causing whatever bread I had in front of me to be smothered in this oil infusion and consumed! I can’t rave enough about such a simple yet delicious dish. Definitely coming back and highly recommend this little place. Staff were friendly and english menu...
Read moreAmazing little Italian joint right in the Shintomi area. Open until late, so it’s a great place to hang our after work! They specialise in Spanish wines but they also have a wide collection so go nuts.
The food was outstanding, beautiful caprese Salad of Burrata and Japanese tomatoes, insanely good.
Clam and Razor clam steamed in white wine and garlic was insanely good, juicy and sweet with delicious broth, wish I ordered some bread to soak it up!
The peperoncino was off the hook! Pasta cooked just past al dente, which is how I like it cause I’m Asian. Served with zucchinis, clams and sudachi but it’s a very light accent. Delicious garlicky goodness, I can’t stop dreaming of this.
The pizza was good but not woah, so I would focus on trying that pasta selections and meat dishes instead. :)
All in all, a lovely joint that I would consider becoming...
Read moreGreat atmosphere: lovely, quiet, and charming. The service staff are all very accommodating and try as hard as they can to communicate with us in English. Not a requirement but much appreciated. The food tastes great and is so fresh. Try to figure out the items from the Japanese menu because the English menu omits a lot of good items. Price is acceptable for the quality of food and service. Definitely not cheap though. However, it’s a great place to spend an afternoon nibbling on appetizers and drinking. Highly...
