4/23/2018 Artnia Cafe is a cute, unique egg-shaped building and it's easily recognizable from the street, you can't miss it. The cafe menu features everything from adorable Slime pancakes, Chocobo cappuccino to Final Fantasy inspired cocktails (Summons, Materia, Elixir). Unfortunately, you can't order these cool looking drinks until 5pm. Too bad for me, I arrived here fairly early before evening time. So I went for alternate option, Dragon Quest's Slime Latte, it taste pretty good and comforting during a cold winter day. My friends ordered Chocolate Cappuccino, it comes with character latte art design which chosen at random. Luckily, they got adorable Chocobo and Mog, two of the finest Final Fantasy characters. Other than the cafe, bar area where you can relax, eat and drink, there's a small museum behind the cafe called the Luxury area. This room showcases the high-end Final Fantasy merchandise in glass display windows and pedestals. At the center of the museum is a waterfall fountain. This elegant waterfall falls into a pool of colorful Materia orbs. Flowing streams of water give the room quite a pleasant vibe. A gift shop in the cafe area caters to fans of Dragon Quest, Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts. Lots of cute plushies, small figures, cards and other collectibles. If you are a fan of Square Enix or ever played Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest or Kingdom Heart. This unique little cafe is worth a visit. Think about it, Artnia cafe is the only shop that directly operated by Square Enix. You not going to find a place like this anywhere else in the world. It's fun enough just to stop by and browse through all the cool merchandise in the store.

One of the itineraries that my daughter had arranged for us during our overseas trip from Singapore to Tokyo is to go to this particular restaurant that she has wanted to visit, dine and chill. However upon reaching the restaurant yesterday on 18 July 2024 afternoon, we didn’t manage to secure a four seaters table, eventhough the restaurant is not fully packed. We have noticed that there is a small table (for two seaters) available and we have requested the male waiter to allow us to bring another unused chair from another two seater table so that we have dine together. However the male waiter replied us with a “No” and didn’t offer any further help to us. Eventually we had no choice but to leave my daughter to dine in herself and we have to resort to buy some quick bento from opposite supermarket to eat at the park. This kind of rigid customer service is the first of a kind that I experienced in Tokyo as I felt that all Japanese are kind and courtesy and would do within all their means to show hospitality to the foreigners. However in this particular case, it is not. Hope the restaurant manager would educate and train your waiters better in term of his customer services. It is not we cannot afford additional meal or drink or dessert in your restaurant or that we demand a bigger table, but all we wanted is to enjoy the dining experience with the family (3 of us) together. In the end, my daughter apologised to us for making us travel all the way from mejiro station hotel to here but we cannot enjoy the dining together as a family. This is one and the only bad experience that I have encountered in Japan. You not only set a bad reputation for your restaurant for the inflexibility but you have lost two customers from this incident. I would strongly urge all future travellers to avoid this bad customer service restaurant in future. As for me, I vow not to return to this restaurant anymore!

☕️🍰GUIDE TO EAT AT THE CAFE⭐️ Since nobody seems to actually explain the process, I’ll do so that I can help those interested: ✅ Unlike other popular cafes like Kirby or Pokemon, it doesn’t require and in-advance online reservation. ✅ Just show up and they will sign you in a list and tell you the next available slot for you to come back. (we came on Sunday evening and had to wait for 2 hours) ✅ Unlike the other two Square-enix cafes in tokyo, you don’t have to pay 1000¥ entrance fee. ✅ Drinks come with a cute coaster, but not the coffee or similar, only those which come in a glass (I had the combo with the slime pancake and ginger ale drink. Delicious). ✅ Food is super cute and tasty. Totally worth the price (which is lower than in other theme cafes). ✅ Staff is nice and kind, but little to none English speaking. ⭐️GENERAL ✅ You can visit the place and buy merchandise even if you don’t eat at the cafe. ✅ The museum is small but AMAZING. Full of nice souvenirs you can buy and autographs from artists and developers. ✅ Cool merchandise with some exclusive things from the cafe, although mostly stuff I also saw in other shops around Tokyo. ✅ Square-enix headquarters are just outside, so it is a plus if you love their games and you want to take a pic of the building where the magic goes.

This is part cafe and part store. The cafe staff is friendly and helpful. They provided an English menu for those who cannot read Japanese, and were very willing to help me with my almond allergy and ensure I'd be OK, but still get to enjoy the items I wanted. It was a great experience for our large group of 7 people for the tiny cafe, and the staff was attentive to our needs. It does not require a reservation like the other Square Enix cafes (Osaka and Akihabara) and seems fairly easy to get in. Has a more fun feel to it as well, and more goods selections. The store side is in two parts, one behind the cafe with all the goods from Dragon Quest, Final Fantasy, etc. The other side feels like a museum with a giant materia statue/waterfall in the middle. It has statues and more expensive goods - and some that are sold out and making you wish you could have them! The cost is only slightly higher than some of the same goods outside the cafe - but they have Artnia exclusive items as well.

I didn't have any of the food, I went for the merchandise. There is a small-medium selection of specific things for their Dragon Quest and Final Fantasy properties, but also a few small things for Octopath Traveler, Triangle Strategy, and Kingdom Hearts. Products ranging from plushies, mouse pads, key chains, to a gacha with pixel art versions of characters, to high end figures. See attached photos. All the products have the name brand premium added to their costs, so they're a bit expensive depending on your budget. But official merchandise is hard to come by in general. I picked up an Octopath Traveler 2 OST, which I couldn't find anywhere else. Presumably because SquareEnix doesn't sell it in many, if any, other locations. The back room has a ton of figures, very high quality ones. My favorite is Id's Gear from Xenogears personally, but there's a bunch to view and purchase.

The Parfait was OK but the whole experience was a bit disappointing.. I guess my expectations were quite since I am a Fan of Final Fantasy since 2008. I was expecting some more Final Fantasy soft toys ( no FF08, 09, 10, 12, 13 or even FF15 soft toys.) There were no card games from FF just from Kingdom Hearts, also no figures of FF13 or FF8? Everything was related to FF7 Remake and a little bit of FF16 and I guess last pieces from FF10. I am not sure if this intended , but Square Enix is currently suffering through high Inflation and less Sales. I wonder why they only focus in their own flagship stores just on the newest products? they are some die old fans who would buy more of the nostalgic most favorite FF series. Anyway for die-hard square Enix Fans its a must but I will definitely go with zero expectations.. that way you are not going to be disappointed
