Read moreWe arrived at Asakusa Unana in the late afternoon. Other reviewers have mentioned that waiting time for the unagi onigiri can be quite long. I thought they were wrong because there was only a short queue in front of the store. Man, I was so wrong!
First, you queue up and pay for a ticket. The cashier will ask if you prefer it spicy / non-spicy. You’ll then be requested to come back later to retrieve your unagi onigiri. We were told to come back 1.5hrs later.
We came back 1.5hrs later to get our charcoal-grilled unagi onigiri. There’s a small shop further down the street where you can consume your onigiri.
Our first impression was that it’s small for 600Y per piece. Granted it’s unagi, but it’s still slightly on the costlier side. The piece of unagi we were given isn’t very big as well and hence it’s definitely not as filling as we have expected.
